Altenew April 2019 Washi Tape/Embossing Paste Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello, crafty friends!
I am so excited and honoured to be joining Altenew for their NEW April 2019 Washi Tape/Embossing Paste Release Blog Hop! Today we are showcasing the new Washi Tapes and Embossing Paste from Altenew. If you arrived here from the talented Erum Tasneem's blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog so that you don’t miss a thing! Join the inspirational blog hop for lots of giveaways and for taking a closer look at the new products.

I have made 3 projects today featuring the new products. Without further ado, let's get started!

To make this card, I started by creating a stenciled background using the Altenew Embossing Paste and Beveled Squares Stencil. Next, I die cut a heart shape from the middle of this panel. Then, on another card panel, I adhered the Gold String Washi Tape. This Washi Tape design is so elegant and classic, that I felt I had to create a monochromatic card in shades of white and gold, in order to highlight its beauty!

I adhered the panel with the Washi Tape on my card base, and then adhered the stenciled panel on top of it. Next, I started working on the focal of my card. I used the Rose Flurries 3D Die Set to die cut the roses and leaves from gold mirror cardstock, vellum, and white cardstock. I layered them together to create some beautiful roses and arranged them on my card panel. I really liked the look of the roses against the stenciled background and felt it gave an elegant touch to the card.

The Altenew Embossing Paste is super creamy in texture and was an absolute delight to work with! It has such a wonderful consistency to it and is really moist and good to use. Here is a shot showing you the stenciled background closely.

I used the Altenew Celebrations Stamp set for the sentiment. It was heat embossed using Super Fine Gold Glitter Powder. I also added a panel with gold mirror cardstock behind my stenciled panel to bring all the elements together. And this was done!

My second card features the Botanical Rhapsody Washi Tape, Golden Trim Washi Tape, Halftone Stencil, and Embossing Paste.

If you have not yet seen the Botanical Rhapsody Washi Tape, you must! It's such a gorgeous Washi Tape and the width of this tape is really mind blowing! I adhered this Washi Tape to a piece of white cardstock, so that I could colour the flowers and leaves using the Altenew Artist Markers (Set A). Once they were coloured, I fussy cut them out and popped them on my card panel using foam dots.

I wanted to add some subtle texture to my card panel, so I used the Altenew Halftone Stencil and Embossing Paste to stencil my background. I mixed the Embossing paste with  the Volcano Lake dye ink to get a nice blue colour.

The sentiment was heat embossed in white on a strip of black cardstock. I added a strip of the Golden Trim Washi Tape on it to accentuate the look. Finally, I added some patterned paper behind my card panel, and my card was done!

My third and final card features the Teal Shadow Washi Tape, Misty Meadows Washi Tape, Dotted Washi TapeGolden Trim Washi TapeLeaf Burst Stencil, and Embossing Paste.

This card has a Washi overload! :D To create it, I started by fussy cutting the flowers from the Teal Shadow Washi Tape, and the leaves from the Misty Meadows Washi Tape. I adhered both these Washi Tapes to pieces of white cardstock before fussy cutting them so that it would give it some thickness and make fussy cutting the elements easier. I also added a touch of stenciling to the background using the Leaf Burst Stencil and Embossing Paste

I then added a strip of the Dotted Washi Tape and the Golden Trim Washi Tape to the left of my card to help balance the card design. I also added a gold heat embossed sentiment strip over the florals.

I added a light blue watercolor wash over the stenciled panel and few black ink splatters to complete my card. This one took some time to put together, but I am happy with the end result. Let me know what you think!

Altenew November 2017 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone!
I'm super happy and ecstatic to be a part of the Altenew November 2017 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. This release has some really amazing stamps and dies. If you have not checked out the new release yet, you must check it out HERE in the Altenew store.

You should have come here from the lovely, Reiko Tsuchida's blog. If not, you can check out the full blog hop order at the end of my post :)

I have four cards to share today, so let's dive in!

I have used the Altenew Story of Us stamp set for my first card. This set has some gorgeous layering flower stamps and it's not only perfect for cardmaking, but also to create beautiful scrapbook layouts. I really love how it looks!
The flowers have been stamped using the Altenew Rose Petal inks. I have used Altenew Tropical Forest inks for the leaves. All the flowers and leaves were then fussy-cut and placed on foam dots for dimension.

The tiny pink flowers are from the Altenew Build A Flower : Rose set. I stamped it using Versafine Onyx black ink and then die-cut it using the coordinating die. I coloured the tiny cluster using Altenew inks in pink.

The sentiment is from the Golden Feather set. I stamped it using Altenew Jet Black ink directly on my card base. I added few black and gold paint spatters as well as few clear sequins to complete my card.

My second card features the Golden Feather stamp set. This is again a layering set and looks so pretty. Absolutely in love with this set!

To create this card, I first created the loose watercolour background using few different shades of Altenew inks. I then stamped the two feathers from the Golden Feather set using Altenew Sea Shore and Glacier Caves inks. The feathers were die-cut using the coordinating Golden Feather die set and popped up on the watercolour background using foam dots. I also added a golden notebook edge at the top of my card which has been die-cut using the Altenew Creative Edges : Notebook die.

The 'our story' is from the Story of Us stamp set. I die-cut the word 'love' twice, once using black cardstock and the other using gold glitter paper which is from the Altenew Script Words die set.

I added a gold button and few black paint splatters to complete my card. I have also added few sequins in gold to further embellish my card.

For my third card, I have made a one-layer card which has lot of watercolouring on it. I have used the Altenew Story Of Us set to watercolour the flowers.

I started by stamping the floral from the Story Of Us set using Altenew Pocketful of Sunshine and Warm Cozy inks. I spritzed my stamps with water while stamping to create a faux watercolor look. I didn't add water while stamping the final layer so that my flower would have a outline.

The small berries and leaves are from the Altenew Peony Bouquet set which were stamped using the Altenew Warm Cozy inks and Tropical Forest inks respectively. The berries and leaves are stamped using the same technique I used for the flowers. The 'hello' is from the Golden Feather set while the 'sweet friend' is from the Altenew Sweet Friend set.

I also did a watercolour wash on the background to compliment the flowers and foliage. I added few clear sequins to complete my card.

My final card is also using the Golden Feather set. I have used black and gold primarily to create my card.

I started by stamping the feathers from the Golden Feather set using Versamark Embossing ink on black cardstock to create my background. I then sprinkled gold embossing powder and heat-set the panel.

The sentiment has been heat-embossed in gold which is from the Altenew Sketchy Floral stamp set while the little floral pieces are from the Altenew Build A Flower : Rose set. It was also heat-embossed using gold embossing powder on black cardstock.

I also matted gold cardstock pieces to finish off my card.

Congratulations on your new home | Card

Hello friends,
This is my second post for the day. I shared a CAS card in my previous post which you can check out HERE. I love making cards for house-warming and the Winnie and Walter Our Town set is my all time favourite to create cards for this occasion.  This is a very versatile set and has so many possibilities. Here's a look at my card :

I have tried to create a mini scene on my card. I started by first stamping the houses from the Winnie and Walter Our Town set in grey using the Hero Arts Soft Granite ink. I then stamped one of the houses in red to make it stand against the grey background.

Next, I popped two of the houses using foam tape for dimension. I then stamped the little clouds, sun and two trees on either side of the red house and red hearts using various dye inks. The yellow birds are a part of the Winnie and Walter Comfort + Joy set.  I also wanted my houses to have a bit of grounding, so I stamped the little pebbles using the same grey ink.

The sentiment has been masked from two different sets. The 'congratulations on your' is from a Papertrey Ink stamp set and the 'home' is from the Winnie and Walter Happiest of Holidays by Evelin T Designs set. I added some diagonal grey Washi Tape to complete my card.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges :

I hope you liked my card. I would love to hear your comments/suggestions on it. They always make my day :)

Thank you so much for dropping by!

Sparkle & Shine | Card

Hello friends!
I have a new card to share today which I made using lots of techniques. Here's a look at it :

I started out by first creating my card background using Ink Smooshing.  I used Mustard Seed and Broken China Distress inks to ink smoosh the background. I also added few black and gold paint splatters.

I then started to work on the focal of my card. I wanted to create a diamond ring so I die-cut out a circle out of white cardstock and then foam mounted it to create a raised look. I then coloured it using Inka Gold in Old Gold. Next, I heat-embossed the diamond from the Winnie and Walter My Precious stamp set using Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing powder and I slightly coloured it using my Zig markers to give it a hint of colour like the light coming out from a faceted diamond.

I also stamped and heat-embossed the rays using the same embossing powder. The ring, the diamond and the rays were all popped on the card front using foam tape.  I then added some Gold Chevron Washi Tape on the four sides of my card to add some balance to the design. Finally, stamped the sentiment which is also from the My Precious set to complete my card. I have gone very CAS, which is not my forte, but this idea was stuck in my head and I just had to execute it.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges :

Winnie and Walter Background Building Challenge with Mayuri ( I have created my own background by watercoloring the grey stripes)

I hope you liked my today's card. I tried to keep it clean and simple :) I would love to hear what you think of it. Thank you so much for dropping by!

Just Saying Hello | Card

Hello everyone!
I know I'm on a blogging spree these days :D I have made a couple of cards specially for the WCMD challenges over at Winnie and Walter and so blogging about each, one by one. This is my second post for the day. Incase you missed my first post, you can check it out HERE.

For my card today, I used the CrafTreat Butterflies stencil. These butterflies are gorgeous when layered!

This one is very bright and colourful and to create this, I first embossed the insides of the butterflies using Versamark embossing ink and Super Fine White embossing powder by Ranger and heat-set it. Then I placed the outline of the butterfly and traced it using a stencil. I watercoloured the butterflies using two complimentary shades of Distress inks. I then fussy-cut them out and popped them over foam dots.

The colourful background was created by ink smooshing different colours of Distress inks on a piece of acetate, spraying water over the inks and then smooshing it on a watercolour card panel. I die-cut a rectangular frame and ink blended it using the same colours. The frame and the butterflies are adhered using foam tape.

I added strips of Black Washi Tape on the two sides and lots of Nuvo Drops. Then placed my sentiment strip which is also heat-embossed and my card was done!

I'm entering my card in the following challenges :

I hope you liked my cards which I shared today. If you have queries regarding any of the techniques or the products used, please let me know in the comments below, I will get back to you.

Thank you so much for dropping by! Have a nice day everyone.

Colored Dahlia Congrats | Card

Hello crafty friends!
I am back from my holiday and am feeling all refreshed with my mojo slowly coming back. I have a card to share today which incorporates lots of stamping, colouring and masking. I have also been practicing a lot with my Zig Clean Color pens recently. Here's a look at my card :

If you are interested in seeing how I made the lime yellow striped background, then check out my tutorial on the Pretty Paper Studio blog where I share the technique.

I have combined lots of different techniques to make this card. To start with, I created my card panel using my Zigs. Then for the focal of my card I stamped the flowers from the Altenew Dahlia Blossoms set using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then fussy-cut all the leaves, filler flowers and the main dahlia. I colored all my images using the Zig Brush pens. I used a waterbrush for blending in the colours. I then popped them all on foam dots for dimension. I also die-cut an oval frame using the Spellbinders Elegant Ovals die and colored it using Inka Gold. The sentiment comes from the Altenew Sentiment & Quotes set. I heat-embossed it in gold on some light pink cardstock. For the finishing touches, I stamped the black stripes on the side of my card and added few Nuvo Crystal drops in different colours. And my card was done :)

I hope you like my card. I would love to know what you think!

Linking this to the Altenew February Challenge. I have used the colours from the inspiration picture :) I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp - Fantastic Florals challenge and Happy Little Stampers - Watercolor  + Anything Goes plus Optional twist of Dies.

Have a nice day everyone!
