Just for you | Altenew Challenge

Hello everyone!
Today I have a quick card to share which I made for the Altenew April Inspiration Challenge. I absolutely loved the color palette and was very much inspired by the ornate design of the inspiration picture from Thailand. It's so exotic with lot of details which appeals to me as an artist a lot, so I had to give this a try. Here's my take on it. I have gone the mixed media route and challenged myself to try out something different from my usual style.

A close-up of the leaves which have been colored with Wink of Stella.

To create my card, I have used a cardstock measuring 4 1/2 inches by 7 inches. It's a long card. First I had gessoed my card panel and then added spatters of paint using Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise spray, some black acrylic paint & Heidi Swapp Color Shine Gold Lame mist. Then I stamped & heat embossed flowers from the Peony Scrolls set by Altenew using Ranger Super fine Gold embossing powder. I colored the flowers  using the Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise spray and the leaves were colored using a mix of Tim Holtz Picket Fence Distress Spray Stain and Studio Calico Mr Huey's Black mist. Then to add touches of purple, I have used the delicate foliage from the Painted Flowers set which was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored using Tim Holtz Seedless Preserves Reinker. The sentiment is from the Altenew Label Love set.
I have colored the leaves using Wink of Stella in clear for adding the finishing touches and have distressed the card base using a pair of scissors and Tim Holtz black Soot Distress ink.

I'm also entering this card in the current SSS challenge- Show us your metal. (I have used embossing powders).

I hope you like my card. Do let me know your comments/suggestions regarding this.
Have a nice day everyone!

Guest Designing at Peek-a-boo Designs | Post 1

Hello everyone!
I'm back today to share some projects I made for my Guest Design post at Peek-a-boo Designs. They sent me two lovely stamps to work with and here's what I have come up with.

To create my card, I stamped and heat embossed the flowers and foliage from the Flowers in a Jar stamp set and colored it using Distress inks. I fussy cut the flowers separately and foam mounted them against the trellis background which I have made using various dies from Spellbinders. The background is dry embossed using an embossing folder from Provocraft and I lightly painted it using Distress ink- Peacock Feathers. I added a sentiment from Altenew - Label Love set and few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to finish the card.

To make my second card, I first created my background using Texture Paste mixed with Peacock Feathers Distress ink using a Heidi Swapp stencil. Then I die cut a circle using Spellbinders Nestabilities Circle dies and sponged it using Distress inks and foam mounted it on my card base. Then I stamped the flowers, leaves and the buds from the Flowers in a Jar set heat embossed it using Super Fine Gold embossing powder from Ranger and directly colored my images using a sponge dauber and Distress inks and fussy cut them before placing them on my card base. Added a few sequins to finish my card.

To create this card I first stamped and heat embossed all the images from the Flower in a Jar set on a watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear embossed them. Then I watercolored my images using Distress inks, once dry, I fussy cut them and foam mounted them on my card base and created a diagonal design in the bottom half using washi tapes to add interest. The sentiment is from the same set and was stamped and heat embossed directly on the card base using Ranger's Super Fine Gold embossing powder.

I'm linking up my cards to the Ranganjali Monthly Challenge- Embossing (I've done both dry and heat embossing on all three cards), Paru's Card making Challenges- Anything Goes, Simon Says Stamp -Make it Girlie.

Post 2 | Guest Designing at Peek-a-boo Designs

Hello friends!
This is a continuation of my previous post.  These are the second set of projects I made using Peek-a-boo Designs stamp - Little Wonder. Here's a look what I made :

This stamp set has some of the cutest images which work very well for creating some adorable embellishments too :) I decided to create my own pattern paper using the small images from this set, so I directly stamped and clear embossed three of the images from this set and lightly colored in using Distress inks. Once my pattern paper was ready, I made a pillow box out of it. Tied a bow using satin ribbon and added a tag to it which is again stamped from the Little Wonder set.

This cute gift tag is also created using the Little Wonder stamp set. Both the image and the sentiment are from the same set. I have off-setted the tag using another tag on the back with a strip of Washi Tape. The little clouds and the sun are from a Winnie & Walter set called Our Town.

I created two Onesies, one is a card and other a tag. The central image is stamped and colored using different mediums. On the card, I have colored it using watercolor pencils and on the tag I have used markers to color my image.

I'm entering my gift tag and Onesie tag to Paru's Card Making Challenges- Anything Goes, My Pillow Box & my Onesies Card & tag to the Ranganjali Monthly Challenge- Embossing, Simon Says Stamp - Make it Girlie (Onesie Tag & Onesie Card).

Hope you all like my projects. I had so much fun creating with this set. Do let me know your views regarding it. Would love to hear from you. :)

Layered Card | Best Mom in the World

Hello friends!
I am blogging after a long time on my personal blog. I have been quite tied up with DT commitments, but I wanted to drop in and share this card that I created for the Papericious blog using their March release which was the Papericious Ephemera Collection. This is a gorgeous collection with some really beautiful prints! Here's my card which I made for the monthly challenge on the blog.

This was a pretty quick card to create. For the base layers, I have die-cut the pattern papers using Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles die and layered them using foam dots. I then die-cut an oval frame using a Couture Creations die and white cardsotck and slightly distressed it using Vintage Photo Distress ink.
After a long time, I have made my own flowers which have been made using the Sizzix Tattered Florals die. The leaves are from Cheery Lynn. The berries and the skeletal leaf are actually chipboard pieces from Wycianka which I have colored using Distress inks. The berries were covered with Glossy Accents to give a more natural look.
The gorgeous butterflies that you see are paper-pieced from the Ephemera collection and foam-mounted on the card base. The sentiment is from Altenew and I created a banner by sponging the background with Tattered Rose Distress ink. The seam binding ribbon was colored using Heidi Swapp Color Shine Coral mist.

I hope you like my card. I've made a layered card after a long time and truly enjoyed it. Let me know your views regarding it.

I'm entering my card in the Artful Crafting- April challenge. I was inspired by the colors and the floral patter on the tea cup and ofcourse, this card was meant for my mom, so had to make it really feminine :)
