Altenew Celebrating Parents Card Drive Blog Hop + Giveaway 2022

Hello, crafty friends!
I'm so happy to be joining Altenew for an inspirational hop today, as a part of the annual Celebrating Parents Card Drive! Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are approaching and this can be a difficult time for seniors who are in nursing homes or shelters. We want these important people to feel loved, celebrated, and honored — and that’s where the annual Card Drive comes in!

Maybe you have a little bit of extra time in the next few weeks to create a few Mother’s or Father’s Day cards to send in for the drive. It doesn’t take much!

If you arrived here from the remarkable, Jaycee Gaspar's Blog, then you are on the right track. If this is your first stop, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog. We've got tons of inspiration and giveaways for you on the hop today, so keep reading till the end of this post for more information.

I used the Remember This Stamp Set along with a couple of my older favourites from Altenew to create this bright and cheery Mother's Day card.

To create my card, I stamped the layered flowers from the Remember This Stamp Set onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock using Obsidian, Rubellite, Pinkalicious, and Pink Diamond inks with the help of my MISTI Stamping Tool. I stamped the images twice so that I had enough number of pieces for my design. Next, I stamped the leaf layers using Evergreen,  Forest Glades, and Jet Black inks from the Green Fields Crisp Dye Ink Oval Set. Once that was done, I fussy-cut all of the images using a pair of scissors.

Next, I die-cut Beeswax Cardstock using the Cube Cover Die to add some interest to my background panel. I also added a die-cut oval and some greenery from the Create-A-Wreath Die Set, cut from Dazzling Diamond Cardstock, and adhered it down on my panel using foam adhesive to ‘ground’ the flowers. Next, I stamped my sentiment from the Extra Special Stamp Set onto the oval die-cut piece using Obsidian Ink

I assembled the different elements on my panel and adhered down the pieces using foam squares. Then, to finish, I adhered the panels together with Craft Glue, before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base using tape runner. Finally, to complete, I added some black paint splatters for interest.

Altenew has chosen a few products that are great for your Mother’s Day and Father’s Day cards (and other year-round projects)!

Altenew Celebrating Parents Card Drive Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello, crafty friends!
I'm happy to be joining Altenew for their Celebrating Parents Card Drive Blog Hop today. Our goal is to send cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes or shelters to let them know they’re not forgotten. Please check out the Celebrating Parents Card Drive information HERE and join this great cause by sending in cards.

If you arrived here from, Helen Kalb's Blog, then you are on the right track. If this is your first stop, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog.

I have made a Mother's Day Card using the Smile and Hugs Stamp Set. I did simple and light watercoloring on the white heat embossed floral image and matched it with a stenciled background.

To begin, I white heat embossed the florals and leaves from the Smile and Hugs Stamp Set on Canson Montval Watercolor Paper. I watercoloured the flowers and leaves using the Purple Wine and Lime brush markers from the Tropical Fiesta Brush Markers Set. I then fussy cut the images and kept them aside to work on my card background.

Then, to create the stenciled background, I die cut the Doodled Dots Cover Die from Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock to create my handmade stencil. I taped it in place using Washi Tape, so that it wouldn't shift when working. I used Altenew's Embossing Paste mixed with a few drops of Lava Rock Brush Marker to create colored embossing paste. Isn't that so cool!? I often use this technique when I don't have a particular stencil in my stash and it's a great way to get more out of your dies too. Altenew is currently offering 20% off ALL Dies in stock, so if you have been waiting to get your hands any of their dies, this is a good time to shop for them.

Once my panel dried, I die cut it using a Diagonal Stitched Rectangles Die Set and adhered it on a panel of Watercolor paper using White Fun Foam for dimension. I then die cut the oval frame, flower clusters, and foliage from the Create-A-Wreath Die Set out of White Cardstock. The flowers were coloured using Coral Berry and Frosty Pink dye inks, while the leaves were colored using Lime and Sweet Leaf Brush Markers from the Tropical Fiesta Brush Markers Set. I popped up the oval frame on my panel using foam squares and arranged the flowers and leaves around it. I used a combination of foam tape and Craft Glue to adhere the elements for dimension and interest. To assemble the card together, I adhered the panel to a piece of Watercolor Paper, which was then adhered to a top-folding white card base with Craft Glue

The sentiment is from the Extra Special Set. I stamped it on a stitched banner using Altenew Obsidian Ink. I popped it on my panel using foam tape and added a couple of Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish off my card.

If you arrived here from, Gayatri Murali's Blog, then you are on the right track. If this is your first stop, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog.

I have made two cards for this special hop and here's a look at the first one featuring the Altenew Extra Special Stamp & coordinating Extra Special Die Set.

To create my card, I first took a piece of 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" of White Cardstock and used the background pattern stamp from the Pattern Play - Diamond Stamp Set to stamp on my card panel using the Evening Gray Crisp Dye Ink. Next, I took another piece of White Cardstock and stamped the main floral image and the corresponding stamp layers for it from the Altenew Extra Special Stamp using inks from the Tea Party Mini Cube Set. I die cut the images using the Extra Special Die Set and kept them aside.

I also die cut a frame from the Crystal Frames Die Set using Gold Mirror Cardstock. Then, I stamped my sentiment in the centre of the frame, which is from the Altenew Extra Special Stamp and was stamped using the Altenew Obsidian Ink

I wanted to add a butterfly to my design, so I pulled out the Painted Butterflies Stamp Set and used the Tea Party Mini Cube Set to stamp one of the butterflies. I fussy cut the image and popped it on foam dots. I also adhered the flowers around the frame using foam tape for added dimension.
I adhered this panel to a piece of Orange Cardstock which was then adhered to my card base. I added few enamel dots on my card for the finishing touches.

My next card is a masculine one and I haven't actually made one in the longest time. I find it a really hard task to create cards for men, but the Altenew Best Dad Stamp Set
definitely makes it easier to create such kind of cards.

To create my card, I first started by die cutting the Cube Cover Die from White Cardstock. I took another piece of Cardstock and used the Dusk Crisp Dye Ink to colour the entire background. I wanted a gradient effect on the panel, so I went in with a darker ink at the top and used a lighter ink for the bottom part of the panel. Next, I used a square die and turned it around and die cut in the middle of the Die Cut Panel for some interest.

I then stamped a bunch of images from the Best Dad Stamp Set and cut them out using the coordinating dies. I coloured in the pieces using colour pencils and kept them aside.

I arranged the various elements on my card panel and adhered them using foam dots. I stamped one part of the sentiment (from the Best Dad Stamp Set) on the crate using the Alltenew Obsidian Ink. I then die cut the word 'Dad' using the Caps Bold Alphabet Die Set from Gold Mirror Cardstock and added it to the front of my card panel. I also die cut few stars from Mirror Cardstock and added them to my panel. And that's it! My card was done.

Giving Back Information:
20% of the profits from these products (Thanks, Dad Stamp Set, World’s Best Dad Stamp Set, Best Mom Stamp Set, Extra Special Stamp Set, Beautiful Lady Stamp Set, Painted Butterflies Stamp Set, Sweet Bow Enamel Pin, Stay Awesome Enamel Pin) until Father’s Day, June 21st, 2020, will be donated to the Food Bank of Central New York to support seniors in need.

My First Ever Flower Pot Card...!! :)

Hi  Friends,
Today I am sharing with you all a flower pot card I have made... This is my first time making this paticular shape card ..I have seen so many different version's of flower pot cards over the net but never tried my hand at it but when I saw this time's IBS color challenge my first thought was these colors would so work for a  pot shaped card I just loved the elegance of these colors and the picture inspiration to go with it and here  is my interpretation of these colors in this shaped card ...Please have a look :) ...

And here is how it looks when the tag is pulled apart from the base :

I have selected a sand color for the base pot and punched out the two border's using MS border lace punch the flowers are punched out from Navy color cardstock and embossed to give the full bloom look then I have made the centre's of these flower by embossing the punch bunch hydra cluster flowers.. I have used the largest flower in this set ...The leaves are all die-cut using Cheery Lynn Olive branches die  in sage color cardstock ..The sentiment is a digital freebie ..And I have blinged up the butterfly using the micro mini gemstone's from Pie Lane ..Sticking them on the butterfly and making its trail really required a lot of patience these gem stones are soooo tiny ..But I just loved the end result ...Don't you ??..Oh and since I could just work with 3 colors on this card I wanted to jazz up this card so have added glitter glue on the flowers too ...It looks amazing in real life ..But I was not able to capture the essence in this picture....:(

Here's a look at the IBS Color inspiration :
