Be Mine - Sweetheart!

Hi friends,
Today, I am sharing a card made especially for the Cheery Lynn'Sweethearts' challenge. This time I have moved away from my usual shabby-chic style and tried to create different backgrounds and flower arrangements. I really love playing with the Cheery Lynn dies that I have and this is what I have created :
The background is created with Spellbinder's Paisley embossing folder colored with Distress inks, but then I found the colors too bright so I sprayed some water on it and heat dried it. This really softened the entire look of the background. Then, I used my favourite Anastasia Border on the edge which I have colored with Tattered Rose Distress ink and the scallop-type border that you see, was created from the negative die cuts of two Anastasia Borders. I love how it looks :)

I had a tough time photographing this card, as I was not able to capture the centre flower properly. Its made with a combination of Cheery Lynn Stacker #4 and Cheery Lynn Sunflower die. There are atleast 6-7 layers which I have used to create it. It's got good dimension which can be seen when it is laid down flat, rather than when it is photographed vertically.

Supplies used :
Dies - Cheery Lynn Daisy Strip,Cheery Lynn Stacker Flower #4,Cheery Lynn  Sunflower die,Cheery Lynn 3 in 1 Corners Lace Deco(F)  Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish,Cheery Lynn Anastasia Border, and Cheery Lynn Olive Branches. The beaded heart and the plain heart die-cuts are a RAK from Sindhu :)
 Emobsssing folder- Spellbinder's M-Bossibilities Paisley.
Kaisercraft Music Script stamp, Studio-G Alphabet Stamps -RAK from Yvonne :)
Martha Stewart 3 in 1 butterfly punch.

An Altered Heart-shaped Box!

Hi Friends and fellow bloggers :)
Today I am sharing with you an Altered gift box which I have made for my Guest Designer post for Color Conceptions blog where their  current Challenge is '3 B's -Bags/Boxes/Baskets ' As many of you know, I love making boxes, bags and altered stuff, and when Priya invited me for the Guest Design post, I knew right away that I wanted to share an up-cycled heart-shaped box which was lying in my stash, begging to be altered for quite some time now :P I won't bore you all with a lot of details and rather just take you to the photographs of the box and how I have upcycled it. So, let's begin with the pictures which I will then, follow up with the explanations!

This is the original box. Sorry, I forgot to click the pictures before I had applied a layer of Gesso on it. I just remembered about it, after the first layer had been applied. But,as you can see , it's an old box in which I had received some homemade chocolates from a friend. I applied  two coats of Gesso to it, before I began decorating it.

After applying Gesso, I have covered the  box with some pattern papers from the DCWV Fresh Florals stack, on the top, sides, and bottom using Mod Podge Then, did some stenciling on the top using Texture paste from Camlin and The 'Mini-Hexagons' Stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and distressed all the edges of the box with Spun sugar Distress ink, as my base paper is also pink. Then, I embellished the top with  handmade flowers using Spellbinder's Rose Creations die colored with Distress Inks -Tumbled Glass Spun Sugar and Mustard Seed, MDF Flourish, Pollens ,Tulle and Pearls.
The sides panels are embellished with crotchet laces and some Martha Stewart punched Doily laces.

I hope you like my upcycled project!  Please do leave me your comments/suggestions would love to hear from you :)

Hi Friends,
Looks like this new year, I am on a roll :)  This is my 3rd post in this week, which is quiet an record for me :) This time the card I am sharing is inspired by the oh so 'Gorgeous picture' at the Shabby Tea Room and the sketch from Mojo Monday. And, the bird-cage has been fussy-cut from a beautiful Pink Paislee pattern paper and popped on my card-base using foam dots! White on White!

Hi Friends,
Today I am sharing with you, an all white card. This is the second time, I have attempted this White On White card, the first time around I did not own a die cutting machine and dies, so my card was created entirely with punches, but I knew that when I had some dies to play with I would definitely give this "WOW" card technique a try again :) So, here's my card which I have made using only dies especially the Cheery Lynn dies.

 And here's a another look   :

And a look at the inside of my card :
For the bottom half  of my card, I have used the Anastasia Border die from Cheery Lynn and pleated it and created the 3 layers to give an effect of frills and layers in a gown, as essentially this card is for a wedding anniversary, and for the inside of the card, I have first embossed an panel using the Provocraft/Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing folder and then de-bossed it by running through the two big shot plates hence flattening the embossing while still retaining the design! The small flowers that you see on the right-hand corner, are also from the Cheery Lynn Daisy Strip die but I have hand-cut them in a small 'V' to give it a new shape. The foliage are all from Cheery Lynn dies too.

Supplies Used :
Base cardstock -Campap
Embossing folders and Dies : Provocraft Swiss Dots Embossing folder, Cheery Lynn Daisy Strip die, Cheery Lynn Olive Branches, Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish, Cheery Lynn 3 in 1 exotic Butterflies (Small) , Ironwork Motifs Scalloped ovals die, Ironwork Motifs oval die.
Stamp : Inkadinkadoo Wedding Stamp set.
Inks : Versafine Onyx Black ink pad.
Lace and Pearls.

Challenges entered :
Cheery Lynn Designs -Winter Whites.
613 Avenue Create - Anything goes with optional twist -Color,Sights and Sounds of Winter.
Make my Monday -Embossing

Hope you all like my card. Please do leave me your comments/suggestions. I would love to hear from you :)

Hi Friends,
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year! I  hope this year see's me doing much more blogging than the previous one :) So, on to my card today, I am sharing a very shabby-chic card but in unusual colors of cream, white and kraft. The inspiration for the card and the colors have been taken from 'The Shabby tea room' challenge blog! And a side view as well :-
As you all know, I love using dies, but sometimes, what I tend to do is crop away certain die-cuts from their original shapes to create something new, like in this card, I have used Cheery Lynn 3 in 1 Lace Corner Deco (F) dies to create a sort of frame for my flower arrangement.
