Spellbinders & Amazing Paper Grace Sweet Serenade Notecards Collection

Hello, crafty friends!
I am back today to share a set of four projects made with the new Sweet Serenade Notecards Collection by Becca Feeken. The delicate lace-like edge and stylish scrollwork designs in this collection of dies inspired me to create a set of sweet and dimensional floral note cards, which would be perfect for a variety of occasions.

Everything in this collection coordinates together from the card base to the embellishments to the stamps to make wonderful notecard creations! One of my favourite dies from this collection is the Scalloped Symphony Notecard Die Set, which is a set of 10 dies that can be used to create either a slimline card front or a 4″ square card when you add the score line insert die. Isn't that simply fantastic?

The dies in the Scalloped Symphony Notecard Die Set are so elegant that I just had to create a slimline card using the layering elements and accents included in the set. I combined it with some floral accents from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Die Set to create a sweet floral birthday card.

To create my card, I first die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the Scalloped Notecard Die from the Scalloped Symphony Notecard Die Set. Next, I die cut the scalloped panel using the Large Square Outline Die from the Scalloped Symphony Notecard Die Set. I cut the die twice, on either edge of the panel, to create a continuous slimline background. This is a great way to get more out of your die designs and maximizing your stash. Once my panel was die-cut I trimmed a piece of Pink Sand Cardstock to 8” x 3.5” to adhere behind my panel as a mat layer for the intricate background design.

Next, I die cut Alabaster and Mirror Gold Cardstock using the Large Square Outline Die from the Scalloped Symphony Notecard Die Set to use as an accent piece on my card. I adhered them together with liquid glue, allowing the gold layer to peek out from behind the ivory layer a bit. Then, I die cut the sentiment using the Small Inner Square die from the Scalloped Symphony Notecard Die Set. I cut one more square out of Mirror Gold Cardstock and adhered it (offset) to the back of the sentiment panel to form a shadow layer.

To embellish my card, I die cut Snowdrift, Peridot, and Mirror Gold Cardstock using a bunch of flower and leaf dies from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Die Set. Next, I used a light pink Copic Marker to flick some colour out from the center to add some quick colour to the flowers. I shaped the petals and the leaves using the Ball Stylus from Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit. Then, to complete my floral arrangement, I added iridescent pollens to the centre of each flower for interest and adhered everything down on to my panel using a combination of Hot Glue and Liquid Glue. I mounted my card panel to a top-folding ivory card base measuring 9” x 4” with tape runner. Lastly, to finish, I adhered pink pearls all across my panel for visual interest.

My next project is a set of Note Cards made using the Scalloped Symphony Notecard Die SetPerfect Harmony Notecard Embellishments Etched Dies, and the Sweet Sayings Notecard Sentiments Etched Dies. I thought the intricate insert dies in this set resembled a snowflake, so I added some delicate embellishments and sentiment die-cuts to create a set of these soft and sweet note cards.

To create my cardlet, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the Scalloped Notecard and Score Line Insert Dies from the Scalloped Symphony Notecard Die Set.  Next, I die cut the panel using the Decorative Insert Die from the Perfect Harmony Notecard Embellishments Etched Die Set. I nestled the insert die as far into the two corners of the square die cut as possible and ran it through my Spellbinders Platinum 6" die-cutting machine. Then, I cut Mirror Gold Cardstock twice using the Decorative Insert Die from the Perfect Harmony Notecard Embellishments Etched Die Set and adhered it to the back of the die-cut card panel with liquid glue, slightly offsetting the die-cuts so that a gold shadow forms. I then trimmed a piece of Pink Sand Cardstock to 3.5" and adhered it behind my card base.

I kept the rest of my cardlet really simple, so that the intricate accent piece shines through. I die cut SnowdriftMirror Gold Cardstock, and White Foam using the 'Hello' die from the Sweet Sayings Notecard Sentiments Etched Dies. I adhered them together with liquid glue, allowing the gold layer to peek out from behind the white layer a bit. I then ink blended Picked Raspberry Distress ink to the top three-quarters of the sentiment die-cut piece for more depth. Next, I die cut Pink Sand and Peridot Cardstock using the flower and leaf dies from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Die Set. Once I had them all die-cut, I used a light pink Copic Marker to flick some colour out from the center to add some quick colour to the petals. I shaped the flowers and the leaves using the Ball Stylus from Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit and adhered them down on my panel using liquid glue. I also added some light yellow pearls to the flower centres for interest. Finally, I folded the panel at the score line and burnished the crease well to form my 4″ square card base.

My second cardlet was also made using the same supplies, but I changed the colours and the sentiment on this one for contrast. For this card,  I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the Scalloped Notecard and Score Line Insert Dies from the Scalloped Symphony Notecard Die Set. Next, I die cut Alabaster and Mirror Gold Cardstock using the Decorative Insert Die from the Perfect Harmony Notecard Embellishments Etched Die Set and adhered it down to the card panel with liquid glue, slightly offsetting the die-cuts so that a gold shadow forms.

Then, I die cut SnowdriftMirror Gold Cardstock, and White Foam using the 'Hello' die from the Sweet Sayings Notecard Sentiments Etched Dies. I adhered them together with liquid glue, allowing the gold layer to peek out from behind the white layer a bit. I then ink blended Faded Jeans and Tumbled Glass Distress inks to the top three-quarters of the sentiment die-cut piece for more depth. Next, I die cut Raindrop and Peridot Cardstock using the flower and leaf dies from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Die Set. Once I had them all die-cut, I used a medium blue Copic Marker to flick some colour out from the center to add some quick colour to the petals.

My final cardlet for today features the Flourished Sonata Notecard Etched Dies and the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Die Set. I love the delicate scroll-like style of the layers from the set!

For my note card, I started off my die cutting Lemon Yellow Cardstock using the Notecard Insert and Score Line Insert Dies from the Flourished Sonata Notecard Etched Dies. Next, I die cut Snowdrift and White Foam using the Decorative Frame Rim and the Decorative Frame Top from the Flourished Sonata Notecard Etched Dies. I adhered them together with liquid glue and lightly blended Tumbled Glass Distress ink over the white die-cut piece to give it a shabby chic look.  Next, I die cut Pink Sand Cardstock using the Decorative Frame Rim die and adhered it to the back of the die-cut card panel with liquid glue. Then, I die cut the sentiment using the Decorative Inner Frame Die from the Flourished Sonata Notecard Etched Dies and adhered it down on my panel using liquid glue.

I kept the embellishing very simple on this card, so that the focus remains on the sentiment. I die cut Pink Foamiran and Snowdrift Cardstock using the flower and leaf dies from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Die Set. I heated the petals with the help of an iron and shaped them using the Ball Stylus from Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit. Next, I added iridescent pollens to the centre of each flower for interest. The leaves were coloured using Bundled Sage Distress ink and then shaped with the help of a Ball Stylus and Tweezers from Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit. I adhered them down on my panel using Hot Glue and then assembled the rest of my card together. I die cut Snowdrift Cardstock using the Outer Rim Die from the the Flourished Sonata Notecard Etched Dies and adhered it behind my main card panel using liquid glue. Finally, to complete, I folded the panel at the score line and burnished the crease well to form my 4″ square card base.

Spellbinders & Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month | August 2021

Hello, crafty friends!
Hope you are doing well and staying safe!
I have a card to share today featuring the Spellbinders & Amazing Paper Grace August 2021 Die of the Month Set. This month's "Lattice Petal Foldover" Set is perfect for making gorgeous cards, gift boxes, note-card sets, and more in no time! This die set features 14 dies.

I have a couple of projects to share today featuring the Lattice Petal Foldover Set. The latticework is truly gorgeous and I loved creating with the different elements included in the die set. Becca's die designs are always so ingenious and this is yet another remarkable die set to have in your stash. I truly can't have enough of it!

My first project is a Shaped Card created using the foldover outline die, foldover inserts, and the inner square die with rim, and the filigree corners from the Lattice Petal Foldover Set.

I didn't have to do much to create this card because the dies all the work for me. To begin, I die cut Metallic Ivory Cardstock using the foldover outline die in the Lattice Petal Foldover Set using my Spellbinders Platinum 6" Machine. Next, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the foldover outline die and used the partial die-cutting technique to create a hinged card base. If you don't know how to create one, you can check out Becca Feeken's tutorial HERE where she demonstrates how to create it in a lucid manner.  Once my card base was die cut, scored, and folded, I adhered the foldover insert dies to the wings of the outline die cut with removable tape and ran it through my die cut machine to die cut the intricate lattice framework.

Next, I die cut the filigree corner die four times out of Gold Mirror Cardstock to tuck in beneath the square motif die cut. Then, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the inner square die to create the centerpiece for my card. Once that was done, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the smallest square piece included in the die set for my sentiment piece. I stamped my sentiment in the centre of the die cut using Black Licorice ink and attached it to my panel using foam squares.

Next, I die cut Snowdrift Cardstock with the mini flower and leaf sprig dies from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies. I coloured each of the floral die cut pieces using Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Distress inks and embossed them using the small ball tip from the Ultimate Tool Kit by Susan's Garden. This is my go-to tool kit for flower shaping and embossing and I do recommend getting it if you are an avid flower maker or enthusiast. Once I had embossed the pieces, I added some pollens to the centres of the flowers for a realistic look. Similarly, the leaves were coloured using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress inks. I shaped the tips of the leaves using the medium ball tip from the Ultimate Tool Kit. Then, to complete the floral bunch, I adhered a shaded mulberry flower, the coordinating filler flowers, die cut leaves, and a pink satin ribbon bow.

I adhered the latticework die cut to my card base with foam adhesive. I then popped the square motif onto the card panel using foam adhesive. I simply love the delicate and lacey look of the die cuts! What do you think?!

My next project is a handmade Gift Box with a set of two note-cards. This is the most darling thing ever!

Becca's die designs are always very versatile and they lend themselves so well to a consortium of papercrafting projects! I used the dies included in the Lattice Petal Foldover Set to create the lid of the box. This box measures. 4.5 inches X 4.5 inches and is 2.25 inches deep. I trimmed a piece of Pink Sand Cardstock to 9 X 9 inches and scored the paper on all four sides at 2.25 inches to create the lid for my box. Similarly, for the base, I trimmed a piece of Alabaster Cardstock to 8 3/4 inch X 8 3/4 inch and scored at 2.25 inches on all four sides. I adhered the flaps together using Red Liner Tape to create the base of the box.

I then used the domed lattice arch die from the Lattice Petal Foldover Set to die cut an aperture in the centre of the lid of the box. I also die cut the arches from Gold Mirror Cardstock and slightly offset the two pieces to create the illusion of depth without an excessive amount of bulk.

Once that was done, I scored, folded and adhered the flaps together to create the finished lid. I adhered a piece of pink satin ribbon in between the two domed lattice arch pieces to give it a more finished look. Next, I die cut Snowdrift Cardstock with the mini flower dies from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies. I coloured the centres of the die cut pieces using Picked Raspberry Distress ink and embossed them using the small ball tip from the Ultimate Tool Kit by Susan's Garden. Once I had embossed the pieces, I added some pollens to the centres of the flowers. Similarly, the leaves were coloured using Twisted Citron Distress ink. I shaped the tips of the leaves using the small ball tip from the Ultimate Tool Kit

I arranged the flowers and leaves together to create a cluster and added them to the box using glue dots. Then, as the finishing touch, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock and Gold Mirror Cardstock using the corner filigree die and slightly offset the pieces to create the shadow layer. I die cut four set of corners to attach to all four sides of the box. Then, as the finishing touch, I adhered white pearls to the corner filigree pieces and domed lattice arch pieces.

I also created a set of two note cards and a romantic little envelope to go with my box. I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the foldover outline die to create the outline layer for the envelope. I then adhered the foldover insert dies to the wings of the outline die cut with removable tape and ran it through my die cut machine to die cut the intricate lattice framework. Once it was die cut, I scored and folded the flaps to create the finished envelope. I then trimmed a piece of Pink Sand Cardstock to size to fit inside the envelope.

Next, I die cut Pink Foamiran using the mini flower die included in the set. I wanted to create a cluster of three roses, so I die cut the flower die thrice in my die cutting machine. I used a slotted quilling tool to roll the mini flowers and then adhered them to the envelope using a hot glue gun. The leaves and sprig from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies were die cut from paper and also adhered using a glue gun. I die cut Alabaster Cardstock and Gold Mirror Cardstock using the fastener die from the set and offset the two pieces to make it all come together!

The note-cards came together very quickly as well! I just used different colours on both of them for contrast and interest. I die cut Alabaster Cardstock and Gold Mirror Cardstock using the inner square frame die and offset the two pieces to create an illusion of depth. I then die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the smallest square die included in the set and stamped my sentiment on it using Black Licorice ink.

Next, I die cut Pink Sand Cardstock using the flower die included in the Lattice Petal Foldover Set. I die cut the flower pieces thrice using my die cutting machine and used a slotted quilling tool to create the coiled roses. The coordinating flowers, leaves, and sprig pieces are from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies. I colored the mini flowers using alcohol markers and adhered them to my panel using liquid adhesive. The leaves were die cut from Limeade Splash Cardstock and adhered using liquid adhesive. To assemble, I matted the die cut background panel with layers of Pink Sand and Alabaster Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding card base made using Pink Sand Cardstock.

I repeated the process for the other note-card as well, but simply changed the colour of the flowers from pink to blue. I also die cut the sentiment piece from Pink Sand Cardstock instead of Alabaster Cardstock and used a different sentiment on this card. I really love how they turned out! I would love to hear what you think of them!

Gift Bag & Notecards | Photo Tutorial

Hi, crafty friends!
I'm posting after a short hiatus on my blog :D
Today, I have a very quick and easy tutorial to share for making a beautiful card pouch. I really had a lot of fun creating this. My son has a male class teacher & coming up with a gift for him for Teachers' Day was quite a challenge as I usually tend to create quite feminine project, so I was pretty happy to work with the newest collections from Papericious which has some really good masculine tones.
Warning - It's a picture heavy post.

Here's a look at the card pouch :

Here's how it looks when opened up :

I have embellished the insides using pattern papers from the Mi Estilo collection. The bow-tie & sentiment have been fussy-cut from the Gentleman pack. (The papers used here are all from Papericious)

As you can see, it has two pockets and can hold 4 X 4 inch notecards with coordinating envelopes and also there is enough space to hold a candy bar of your choice.

The note-card & coordinating envelope :

The trio together!

The back side of the pouch :

Here's the tutorial on how to create this :

TUTORIAL

Step 1 - Take a 12 X 5" piece of cardstock and score at 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 inches.

Step 2 - To create the inside pockets, take TWO pieces of 2 3/4 inches X 5 3/4 inches piece of cardstock.

Step 3 - Score at 1/4 inch TWICE on three sides of this cardstock and fold it to form the pocket. Cut out the two squares on the sides to help create a crisp pocket-fold.

Step 4 - To create handles of the card pouch, you can either use any punch of your choice or a die, I have used Spellbinders Label 4 to create my handles.

After die-cutting the handle looks like this :

Step 5 - To further embellish the handles, create a frame using the same die set. I have distressed it using Hickory Smoke Distress ink. ( I have used the Papericious Craft Sheet & Ink Blending Tool )

Step 6 - To embellish the front & back of the pouch, I have used different pattern papers from Mi Estilo and the Gentleman pack.

The Note card and the co-ordinating envelope were also made using these papers.

For the pouch, I die-cut a scalloped border panel using papers from the Mi Estilo collection and layered it with another paper from the same collection. I then made a handmade flower again die-cut using papers from the Mi Estilo pack. Added few leaves, filler flowers and the sentiment, and my bag was ready :)

For the note-card, I have used die-cuts from the Infinity Collection. I have used three different pattern papers from the Mi Estilo collection.

For the envelope, I have again used a die-cut from the Infinity pack.

Hope you liked the tutorial and give it a try. I would love to hear your views on it :)

Linking this to Eclectic Ellapu- Gifts, Challenge up your life- Lace (Have used paper lace on both the gift bag & envelope), Crafty Catz- Anything but square (entering my bag only), Jo's Scrap Shack - 3 colors (Red, Gray and Green), 2 embellishments (2 kinds of filler flowers and enamel dots), 1 technique- Die-cutting, Just add ink - Just add P (Pattern papers).
