Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Card | Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month

Today I am sharing a card featuring the Spellbinders & Amazing Paper Grace April 2021 Die of the Month Set. This month's "Dahlia Dimensional Doily" Set is perfect for making gorgeous cards, gift boxes, gift bags, and more in no time! This die set features 11 dies.

I created a layered, dimensional card in pastel colours using the Dahlia Dimensional Doily Set. I have also used the Wedded Bliss Scene Etched Dies for my card and love how all of Becca's dies coordinate so well with each other! In case you missed, it I shared a Card on my blog a few days ago using this month's "Dahlia Dimensional Doily" Set, which you can check out HERE.

For my card, I started by die cutting Pink Sand Cardstock with the filigree panel die from the Dahlia Dimensional Doily. I die cut it twice, so as to create an A2-sized panel for my card front. I also die cut the die from Gold Mirror Cardstock and slightly offset it to the back of the pink die-cut before adhering for visual interest and dimension. 

Next, I die cut the dahlia pieces from White Cardstock and followed Becca Fekeen's Video Tutorial to create a dahlia dimensional  doily. This was a bit time-consuming to make, but it was very fun to work on as well! I also die cut the doily lace quadrants from Pink Sand Cardstock and inserted them in all four quadrants of the circle. 

For the roses, I die cut the spiral flower dies from White Foamiran. I coloured all the petals with Pool Play ink using a sponge dauber and then used a slotted quilling tool to create my rolled roses. The leaves were die cut from White Foamiran as well and coloured with Electric Lime ink using a sponge dauber. I lightly shaped the die cut leaves using the scoring tip from the Tool N' One.

Next, I die cut the gazebo, the bride and groom, and the sentiment from White Cardstock, Pink Sand Cardstock, and Gold Mirror Cardstock using the Wedded Bliss Scene Etched Dies. I also die cut the gazebo from Gold Mirror Cardstock and adhered it to the back of the White Cardstock piece, peaking out just a bit. The sentiment was adhered to the card front using a combination of liquid glue and foam adhesive. 

I adhered the roses and the foliage on my card front using Craft Glue. I mounted the panel to a mat layer of White Cardstock followed by a panel of Gold Mirror Cardstock. I then attached it to a top-folding white card base made from White Cardstock and my card was complete.

Spellbinders & Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month | April 2021

I have a card to share today featuring the Spellbinders & Amazing Paper Grace April 2021 Die of the Month Set. This month's "Dahlia Dimensional Doily" Set is perfect for making gorgeous cards, gift boxes, gift bags, and more in no time! This die set features 11 dies.

I created a wedding card in pastel colours using the Dahlia Dimensional Doily Set. This die set is a mini collection of options, all together in one set. I have used the filigree panel die in the set along with the spiral flower dies for my card, but you can also use the Dahlia Doily die if you'd like.

I love the sweet, romantic rolled flower dies in this set and I was so happy to create them after a long time. The dies include a score line, so that you could bend the edges over easily while making them. You can control the overall size by how tightly you wind them, so you can make flowers in any size you'd like.

For my card, I started by die cutting Pink Sand Cardstock with the filigree panel die from the Dahlia Dimensional Doily. I die cut it twice, so as to create an A2-sized panel for my card front. I also die cut the die from Fun Foam, so that I could layer the two pieces, one on top of the other, for dimension and interest. 

Next, I die cut White Cardstock with the spiral flower dies from the set. I coloured the die cut pieces using watercolor half-pans for a soft, muted look. Then, to create the roses, I used the scoring tip from the Tool N' One to burnish the scored lines from the back of the die cut. Then, from the front, I bent back the scored edges. Next, I placed the thinnest end of the flower into my Quilled Creations Slotted Quilling Tool and turned it, so that the flower wrapped around the quilling tip with the rose edges bending outward. I added glue to the rounded base of the flower and my rose was ready! These are probably the easiest flowers you'll ever make, so if you've been thinking of trying your hands at flower making, this is just the perfect die set for you! 

The leaves and foliage were die cut from White Cardstock and Vellum using the Simply Layered Blooms Etched Dies. I coloured the die cuts with Electric Lime ink using a sponge dauber. Next, for my focal element, I die cut a circle out of Vellum using the Nestabilities Standard Circles LG Etched Dies and then die cut the doily lace insert from the Dahlia Dimensional Doily twice from White Cardstock. I also die cut a circle from Gold Mirror Cardstock and a scalloped circle from Pink Sand Cardstock. The sentiment was stamped using Black Licorice ink on a circle die cut. I adhered all of these together using a mix of foam adhesive and Craft Glue.

I adhered the roses and the foliage on my card front using Craft Glue. I mounted the panel to a mat layer of Gold Mirror Cardstock, followed by a panel of Pink Sand Cardstock. I then attached it to a top-folding white card base made from White Cardstock and my card was complete.

Spellbinders Wedding Season by Nichol Spohr | Cards

I am back today with TWO Cards to share using the Wedding Season Collection by Nichol Spohr. I had such a fabulous time creating with these wonderful dies and I am so excited to share my projects with you!

Wedding Season by Nichol Spohr reflects a clean and contemporary look to that all-important life event. Mix and match with the other sets in the collection to create a wonderful array of projects for the happy couple!

 

My first Card features the Wedding Dress & Tux Etched Dies and the sentiment plates from the Glimmering Wedding Wishes Glimmer Hot Foil Plates.

My idea with this Card was to create a scene based on Seaside Weddings which are so popular and have such an ethereal feel. The colours of the sea, the sky, and the sand as a backdrop for the wedding couple inspiration were some of the images that were my inspiration behind this Card. 

For my card, I first started with a piece of A2 Watercolor Paper which I painted using three different shades of Distress Oxide inks. I then used my Watercolour Brush to blend in the colours in order to achieve a soft, seamless blended background paper. Once I was done with the background, I started working on the focal for my card. I die cut an arch from the Spellbinders Ornamental Arch Etched Dies from Whip Cream Cardstock and adhered it down to my panel. 

I went with very informal, summery colours for the clothes of the bride and groom since the backdrop was of a beach/seaside. I die cut the jacket for the groom from River Stone Cardstock using the various dies from the Wedding Dress & Tux Etched Dies, while for the bride I went with a white dress which I lightly coloured with Summer Days Ink Pad. I also embossed her dress top to add some interest to the design.

I die cut the bottom of her dress from the same Whip Cream Cardstock and then put together the top and bottom to construct the dress. I love how these dies have so many add-on accessories included in the set which makes it super easy to accessorize them. I die a little tie, buttons, and the shirt from itty bitty pieces of left over cardstock and adhered those down to the jacket.

The flowers are handmade using the Petite Double Bow & Flowers - Die. I die cut the flowers from Watercolor Paper and then inked them using Distress Oxide inks (I used the same colours which I used for painting my background). I added pollens to the centres to give them a fuller look.

For my sentiment, I used the sentiment plates from the Glimmering Wedding Wishes Glimmer Hot Foil Plates. I used my Glimmer System and Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Gold to hot foil the sentiment on a strip of White Cardstock. I then snipped them into two and matted the strip with Bubblegum Cardstock.

My next Card features the Wedding Dress & Tux Etched Dies and the sentiment plates from the Glimmering Wedding Wishes Glimmer Hot Foil Plates.

I decided to go with more traditional Wedding colours for this one to show you the versatility of the dies. All that you need to do is, change your background, colours, and/or design, and you'll find yourself creating new and unique designs each time round.  For my card, I started with a piece of A2 White Cardstock. I foiled the top half of the card using the Twinkle Lights Glimmer Hot Foil Plate. I used my Glimmer System to foil it to my background and used the Hot Foil Roll in Matte Gold for the sparkly gold finish. Then, I die cut a decorative arch piece using the Shapeabilities Grand Arch 3D Card Etched Dies from Whip Cream Cardstock and adhered it down to my foiled panel.

It was time to start working on the main focal of my card, so I die cut the dresses of the bride and groom using the Wedding Dress & Tux Etched Dies from Black Licorice Cardstock & Pearlescent White Cardstock respectively. You'll notice how the dress has some deep embossed lines on it, which is so amazing, as it adds so much interest to the design. I put together the tuxedo and added gold buttons and a small red rose to accessorize his waistcoat.

For the bride's dress, I went with pastel shades and tucked in little roses all around her dress to make it look delicate and elegant. I also die cut a bunch of flowers using the flower dies from the Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month - Life is a a Party and slightly embossed them using Embossing Tools to give them some shape. The centres for the flowers were die cut from Gold Mirror Cardstock and then adhered down to my card panel. I also added some leaves and foliage to make it look more complete.

The sentiment is die cut using the Shapeabilities Layered Happily Ever After Etched Dies. I snipped off the vignette frame just to use the sentiment word piece I die cut it from Whip Cream Cardstock and Gold Mirror Cardstock and adhered it down to my panel. If you notice, I have offset the sentiment a bit while adhering to add interest to my design.

Spellbinders + Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month | June 2020

When I received this die set in the mail, I was just amazed by the amazing concept behind this die set. The entire set comprises of 41 dies and is so versatile. I decided to create an Anniversary Easel Card and I do love how this one turned out, even if I may say so myself. :)

This is also only the second time that I have created an Easel Card, so I was quite thrilled to revisit it. My Card features some additional Amazing Paper Grace dies from previous collections as well as this month's dies. I love how Becca's range of dies complement each other so well. Her dies always offer innumerable possibilities which is why I adore them so much!

For this Easel Card, I began with a piece of 6" X 6" Pearlescent White Cardstock from Papericious. Next, I adhered a layer of Gold Mirror Cardstock over my base.

I took a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock and die cut borders from both the top and bottom of the paper using the Delicate Tendril Border Etched Dies. I first adhered a piece of Pearlesecent White Cardstock and then added this panel to my card.

It was time now to work on the main focal of the card - which is the calendar. I die cut the grid from Pearlesecent White Cardstock and the numbers from Gold Mirror Cardstock. I admit, it took me a while to get all the numbers lined up and adhered to my card, but I think it was well worth the effort. I matted this panel too with Gold Mirror Cardstock for an elegant touch. Next, I die cut a plaque from Pink Cardstock and adhered the die cut letters on it which are again from the A2 Snip It Grid and Calendar Creator Set.

To embellish my card, I created some handmade flowers and fillers. I die cut the flowers using the flower dies from the A2 Snip It Grid and Calendar Creator Set. I love how Becca always coordinates everything so well. You get so many amazing dies in one set! I die cut them from White Cardstock, inked them using Mermaid Markers by Jane Davenport, and then shaped/embossed them using Embossing Ball Tools & Groove Golf Tools. I added clay pollens to the centres for a more realistic finish.

The additional foliage for my flowers are die cut from the dies included in this month's Life is a Party Card Kit. If you haven't seen the dies in the Card Kit for this month, you must check them out. They are incredible!

To create the easel for my card, I scored and attached another piece of Whip Cream Cardstock to my Card. I matted another layer of Cardstock over this panel from which I had die cut borders using the Delicate Tendril Border Etched Dies.

 I also die cut the sentiment banner from Pearlesecent White Cardstock and Gold Mirror Cardstock and inlay the sentiment piece for added interest. I popped this on my panel using foam tape. I also added some die cut hearts next to the sentiment. This pretty much completed my card. This was truly a labor of love!

Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month | February 2019

I have something very new and exciting to share today. The lovely folks at Spellbinders sent me their Amazing Paper Grace February Die of the Month to work with and I have some project ideas to share using it. If you are not familiar with the Spellbinders Club Kits, I highly recommend checking them out. HERE's a link to all their Monthly Club Kits. Their kits are truly value for money and I have really enjoyed working with them. 

I have TWO projects to share today using the APG (Amazing Paper Grace) February Die of the Month, so without further ado, let's get started:

I have always been a big fan of Becca Feeken's dies and designs. They are so intricate and exquisite and can really dress up any project without doing much. I wanted to create a Card which would be perfect to use as a Wedding Card. This Enchantment Tall Flip and Gatefold Card Die Set can be used to create a variety of projects and are designed in signature Becca style.

My card measures 5" X 7". To create this card, I first started by die-cutting the main card panel. I cut two die panels and folded them in half leaving a 1/2" inch space on the side of the paper to glue this to the card base. This has to be done, because the largest frame die cuts only one one side and scores on the other as these dies are designed to create Gate Fold Cards. HERE is a video by Becca Feeken explaining how to use these dies.

After adhering the two side panels of the card on to my card base, I created a belly band to hold the card close. I have used a 12" X 2" piece of cardstock to create the band and scored it at 5" approximately to fold. 

Then, I die cut the center piece using a patterned paper and stamped my sentiment on it. I also added gold foil cardstock behind it to help accentuate it. I die cut a border from the Shadow Box Ribbon Threader Etched Dies using gold foil cardstock to add some detail to the belly band.

The white and blue flowers were made using the flower dies included in the Enchantment Tall Flip and Gatefold Card Die Set. I lightly coloured and embossed them to give them a more natural look. I also adhered some mulberry flowers, fillers, and rose buds to complete my cluster.

Here is how the card looks when opened. There is enough space to include a message for the recipient.

My second project is an Envelope cum Card. This piece can again be gifted to someone at their Wedding or any special occasion. I have tried to keep this one simple and elegant. Trust me, this looks really glamorous in real life.

The concept behind this project was that I wanted to create a card which was shaped like a Clutch Purse, since this particular die is shaped like a handle when used individually. It's perfect for making small gift bags and hence, an elegant purse too!

You can see the gorgeous gold foil in this picture. I created this handle like shape for the clutch by partially die cutting the die twice from cream cardstock to give it some thickness, and once from gold foil cardstock to accentuate it. I adhered all the three layers one on top of the other.

I went with a dainty floral arrangement on this one. I die cut the flowers from the flower dies included in the Enchantment Tall Flip and Gatefold Card Die Set. I lightly shaped and coloured them and grouped them together with some mulberry rose buds and die cut leaves to give it a complete look.

I have used the corner dies included in the set to create inserts for my project, both on the outside flap as well as inside the card.

I also used tiny magnets for the closure of this card. These magnets are super strong and give the project the proper look of a clutch purse while serving a more practical purpose.

When the card is opened, the top half can be used for writing a little note to the recipient or you can stamp a sentiment in the centre like I did. The bottom half has a pocket in which you can either place a gift card or add some money depending on who you are looking to gift it to!

Here's a closer look at the corners and the sentiment. I have used gold foil cardstock for die cutting them. I feel it gives it a very regal look.

I also wanted to some pretty little details to the bottom half of the pocket. I die cut a flourish from gold foil cardstock using the die included in the Shadow Box Ribbon Threader Etched Dies. I also added a die cut ribbon using dies from the same set and adhered it to my card for a finishing touch.
