Altenew Build-A-Flower: Giant Bellflower Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

Happy first day of March friends!
I'm delighted and honoured to be joining Altenew for the Build-A-Flower: Giant Bellflower Layering Stamp & Die Set Blog Hop today. This month’s flower is the beautiful Bellflower and I just love it’s upturned, open cup-shape!

Let your imagination soar with stunning florals and heartfelt greetings in this unique layering stamp and die set. The florals in this set feature an artistic take on giant bellflowers, showcasing beautiful open petals on a cluster of three flowers. Want to experiment with color? We have added separate coloring layers for each individual flower so you can get creative with colors for your paper crafting projects.

If you arrived here from Terri Koszler's Blog, then you are on the right track. If this is your first stop, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog. We've got tons of inspiration and giveaways for you on the hop today, so keep reading till the end of this post for more information.

I kept my card super simple and paired the flowers with a subtle ink-blended background to keep the focus on the gorgeous bellflowers!

To begin, I stamped the layered flowers from the Giant Bellflower stamp set onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock using Burnt Red, Canyon Clay, Evening Gray, and Pastel Sunrise inks with the help of my MISTI Stamping Tool. I repeated the process with the stand-alone floral images. Next, I stamped the leaf layers using Forest Glades and Frayed Leaf inks from the Green Fields Dye Ink Set. Once that was done, I cut all of the images out using the coordinating dies.

Next, I trimmed a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock to size and simply did a wash of “Warm Sunshine” by mixing in some water and spreading the paint loosely over my paper using a wide brush to watercolour the panel. I let the panel dry and then added some peach and gold paint splatters for interest. Next, I die-cut Gold Mirror Cardstock and White Foam using one of the interlocking geometric frame dies in the Crystal Frames Die Set and adhered it over my panel using Craft Glue. Then, I stamped a sentiment from the Giant Bellflower stamp set in the centre of the frame using Obsidian Ink.

Then, to finish, I arranged the different stamped pieces on my panel and adhered them down using Craft Glue. Next, I mat my card panel with Gold Mirror Cardstock, before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base using tape runner.
