Altenew Build-A-Flower: Belladonna Lily Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

Happy first day of April friends!
I'm delighted and honoured to be joining Altenew for the Build-A-Flower: Belladonna Lily Layering Stamp & Die Set Blog Hop today. This month’s flower is the wonderful Belladonna Lily and I just love these summer bloomers that produce multiple fragrant flowers on each impressive stalk!

If you arrived here from Eva Bussom's Blog, then you are on the right track. If this is your first stop, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog. We've got tons of inspiration and giveaways for you on the hop today, so keep reading till the end of this post for more information

Altenew has brought this exotic plant to paper through a delicately drawn outline image. The flowers have four coloring layers, and the stem has two coloring layers that will add depth and character to this beautiful flower. The Build-A-Flower: Belladonna Lilies special edition stamp and die set is only sold as a bundle. It includes one 6" x 8" clear photopolymer stamp set (20 individual stamp images) and one coordinating die set (1 die). When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in their monthly Build-A-Flower releases and will receive a set each month - at a specially discounted price! ($35.99 →$29.99)

I started by trimming a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock to 5" X 4" and die-cut an oval in the centre of the panel using the Nesting Ovals Die Set. Next, I die-cut Citrine Cardstock  using the oval base die from the same set and kept it aside to work on my card panel.

I wanted the sentiment to really stand out on the card, so I chose to lightly blend three shades of ink (Heart BeatCoral Bliss, and Pink Pearl) over another background panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock with a blending brush. Then, I stamped my sentiment from the Belladonna Lily Stamp Set on the panel using Obsidian Ink.

To create the flowers, I stamped the large layered belladonna lily from the Belladonna Lily Stamp Set stamp set onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock using Jet BlackHeart BeatCoral Bliss, and Pink Pearl inks with the help of my MISTI Stamping Tool. I repeated the process twice more, so that I would have three large stamped flowers. Next, I stamped the stem layers using Olive and Parrot inks from the Tropical Forest dye ink set. Once that was done, I cut all of the images out using the coordinating dies.

Next, to add a bit of texture and dimension to my card, I used the Flower Bed 3D Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Altenew’s Watercolor Paper in my Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine. Once that was done, I die-cut some foliage from the Create-A-Wreath Die Set, cut from Forest Glades Cardstock, and adhered it down on my panel using Craft Glue. Then, I assembled the different elements on my card front and adhered them down using a combination of Craft Glue and foam adhesive - I adhered the flowers and ink blended panel to the front of the card using foam squares and added two layers of foam squares under the larger flower for even more dimension. Then, to complete, I adhered the panel to a top-folding white card base using tape runner. As a finishing touch, I added some black paint splatters and sparkling Antique Gold - Sequins to embellish.
