Happy Birthday | Photo Tutorial

Hello friends!
I'm back to blogging finally and I have lots of cards to share. Today I'm sharing one of the two cards I made for my DT post at Pretty Paper Studio. The July challenge at PPS is- Black, White & a splash of Colour. Here is my card based on this theme. I have a tutorial to share as well on how I made each of them!

TUTORIAL

Step 1 – Take a piece of white cardstock measuring 4 1/4 inches by 5 and 1/2. Emboss the cardstock piece using the Cuttlebug A2 Embossing Folder/Border Set: Kaleidoscope by running it through your Sizzix Big Shot Machine. As you can see, I have not embossed the full piece but done it only a bit more than half the piece, leaving some space on the top half of the card for my sentiment and the focal images.

Step 2 – Now it’s time to make the focal of your card. I picked up the Paper Smooches Clear Stamps 4″X6″ – Botanicals 3 set and stamped and fussy cut my images. I stamped the flowers using the ColorBox Pigment Mini Ink Pad Canary and the leaves using Versafine Onyx Black ink pad.

Step 3 – Now, either you can die-cut a paper lace or punch out using Border Punches. I have used the Cheery Lynn designs- Anastasia Border to die-cut a black coloured border for my card.

Step 4 – I decided to go with a ‘Happy birthday’ sentiment for my card. I stamped my sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink. The stamp set is from Hero Arts- Find Joy set.

Step 5– And here’s how the finished card looks like. It’s super simple and very easy to create. I have popped up the flowers and leaves on foam dots to give it a bit of dimension

I am entering this card in the following challenge :
Paru's Cardmaking Challenge : Birthday Card /Tag
Simon Says Stamp - Flaura /Fauna
STAMPlorations CAS challenge.
Cut it Up- Anything Goes

I hope you like my card and tutorial. Do leave me your comments/suggestions I would love to hear from you :)
