Altenew is releasing another amazing Watercolor Brush Markers Set! The Tropical Fiesta Set is full of cheery, bright, vivid tones. Here is a colour swatch for the Set:
I have two cards to share today for the hop, so let's get going!
My first card features the Garden Picks 3D Die Set and
To create this card, I started by die cutting the roses and foliage from the Altenew Garden Picks 3D Die Set from 300 GSM cold pressed watercolor paper. Them, I used the shades: Sunkissed, Crimson, and Paper Bag from the Tropical Fiesta set to colour my roses. Do keep in mind, that these markers are VERY concentrated, so a little goes a long way. I coloured the leaves the same way using a mix of Sweet Leaf and Lime. They are such pretty colours!
Next, I embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Altenew Dotted Scales Debossing Cover Die.
I gave a light colour wash on the embossed panel using the Lava Rock Brush Marker to add some depth to my background. Once that was done, I arranged my flowers and leaves and adhered them on the panel.
All that was left to do now was, add a sentiment to my card. I chose one from the Sketchy Floral Stamp Set. It was stamped on a strip of white cardstock and then popped on my card panel using foam tape. I added few black paint splatters and enamel dots to finish off my card.
For my second card, I have taken the watercoloring route and used the Perfectly Perfect Stamp set.
I am not much of a colorist, so forgive me, if this looks very amateurish! To create this card, I first heat embossed the flowers and leaves from the Perfectly Perfect Stamp set using White Embossing Powder on 300 GSM cold pressed watercolor paper.
I wanted to add some subtle texture to my background, so I used my Cube Cover Die to give an embossed effect. I really love stretching my supplies to get more mileage out of them and this is a great technique to do with all your Cover Dies. I created my own grey background by using the Lava Rock Brush Marker on white cardstock and diluting it with a lot of water. This resulted in a soft, grey color cardstock colour which went well with my flowers.
I used the Simple Alpha Die Set to die cut the letters 'Hi' from black cardstock and white fun foam. I adhered them one on top of the other, so that I could get a raised effect. The other part of the sentiment came from the Sketchy Floral Stamp Set. I added a thin strip of silver glitter paper to the sentiment strip to add some interest to my card design. Finally, I added few clear sequins and black paint splatters to complete my card.
