Spellbinders A Charming Christmas Collection | Guest Post One

Hello everyone!
I am super stoked to be a guest blogger this month on the Spellbinders blog. I have two projects to share today featuring the ever elegant 'A Charming Christmas' collection by Amazing Paper Grace.

In my first post, I wanted to highlight the Cottage Box Etched die set. This is a really big die set with a beautiful gift box and numerous little add-on dies. I made these in two different styles: traditional Christmas colours and light spring colours. I will first showcase the one with traditional Christmas colours:

To create this box, I first started by die cutting the Cottage Box Etched die set from a sheet of 8.5" X 11" Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock in 110 LBS by running it through my Spellbinders Platinum 6" machine.

Once my box was cut, I die cut the little windows, scallop trims, and doors to add additional interest to the box. I die cut the little scallop trim die multiple times from bright red cardstock, to create the roofs for my box on both sides (front and back). The little windows were die cut from gold foil cardstock.

I also wanted to add some details to the sides of the gift box, so I die cut a swirl accent from gold foil cardstock, and window insert and rim from bright red and green cardstock. These dies are all part of the Cottage Box Etched die set.

No project is complete without flowers, right?! Atleast, I think so! :) I created a small cluster of these gorgeous poinsettias using the Cinch and Go Poinsettia Etched die set. I die cut them from white cardstock, while for the leaves, I chose a dark green cardstock. Once the flowers were die cut, I embossed them in the middle and added golden pollens in the centre to accentuate their look.

Here is another view of the side of the gift box.

I also wanted to add a little sentiment tag to my project, and the cute tag included in the Cottage Box Etched die set was perfect for my project! I die cut the tag from white cardstock, stamped my sentiment in black ink, and adhered the holly and berries from the Sentimental Christmas Stamp and Die Set. I die cut the berries from red cardstock, and for the leaves I used deep green cardstock. I attached this tag to my box using some red Baker's Twine.

And here's a look again at the gift box. I added a red door and golden knob to the front of my box to add some interest to my project. I love the Cottage Box Etched die set for the variety of dies included in it. One can create several different kinds of boxes using this set, and the results are simply amazing!

My next project is again a gift box, but this time in light, summery colours. I die cut the box entirely from patterned paper. Here's a look at my project:

To create this box, I first started by die cutting the Cottage Box Etched die set from a sheet of 12" X 12" patterned paper by running it through my Spellbinders Platinum 6" machine. I chose a very light blue checkered pattern for my box.

Once my box was die cut, I die cut the little windows and scallop trims to add interest to the box. I die cut the little scallop die multiple times from white cardstock to create the roof for my box. I also die cut it twice from spring green cardstock to add to the bottom of my box. These dies are all part of the same die set, the Cottage Box Etched die set.

On the front side of the box, I added few berries to the green scallop trim. I thought it added a nice little touch to my box! These berries are a part of the Sentimental Christmas Stamp and Die Set, and were cut from red cardstock.

You will notice that in both the boxes, I have kept the basic layout and design almost similar. This is because I wanted to show how a single die set could be used for various occasions.

The flowers on the top left corner were handmade using Cinch and Go Poinsettia Etched die set. I die cut them from dark pink cardstock, and added light pink pollens to the centre. I also added few green leaves to the flower cluster!

For the sides of the box, I used the intricate decorative insert from Charming Tag Pocket Etched Die set. This adds a certain 'wow' factor to the box, and makes it stand out even more! I did this for both sides of the box.

Here's how the back portion of the box looks!

I added a gift tag to the box, which was die cut from white cardstock. I stamped my sentiment on this tag, and adhered holly leaves and berries to the side of the tag. I used a tiny circle punch to punch out the berries from pink cardstock, while for the leaves, I die cut them from green cardstock using the Sentimental Christmas Stamp and Die Set. I attached this tag to my box using some red satin ribbon.

And here's a final look at the box. I hope you like my idea!

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady | Post Three

Hello everyone,
Today's my third post as the Leading Lady this month and I have some gifting ideas to share at the w & w blog. I am sharing some gift tags and candy boxes today which were made mainly using two sets - Ring in the Celebration and In Bloom: Shirley's Blooms stamp and co-ordinating die sets. I have also used two of their older sets - The Big, the bold and Party and In Bloom : Hollie's Festive Florals along with their new release.

Here's a look at the tags first :

And here are the individual pictures :

To make these tags, I first stamped the different circles from the Ring in the Celebration stamp using a variety of dye inks and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I die cut the circles with their coordinating dies to not only form the base of my tags, but also to embellish them.
If you have a look at this set, you will find that it has many layering circles which fit into each other very beautifully. I took advantage of this fact to not only create frames and my centre images, but also for my sentiments.

On the floral tags, I have used a combination of the Ring in the Celebration stamp + coordinating die set, In Bloom : Shirley's Blooms stamp + coordinating die set and In Bloom : Hollies Festive Florals. The sentiments are from The Big, the Bold and Party set which were heat embossed with white embossing powder on a strip of black cardstock and foam mounted on the frames. I did have a lot of fun creating these and mixing and matching the various stamped images.

Next up I have a very fun way to use the Ring in the Celebration set to create candy boxes for either party favours or just for gifting.

Here's a look at them :

To make these boxes, I took a piece of white cardstock measuring 7 inches by 7 inches and stamped several of the smaller images from the Ring in the Celebration set using various colored dye inks. Then, using a Candy Box Punch Board I created the box. I die cut a window using the dies from the same set and added some acetate behind. I did a very light color wash using a watercolor brush and Distress inks.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I have created and you find these ideas useful. I am definitely crushing on the Ring in the Celebration stamp and die set big time and definitely feel it's a very good buy :)

I would love to hear what you think of them. Don't forget to comment on my blog post for a chance to win the $30 gift certificate to the Winnie & Walter store. Winner will be announced on my blog, at the end of the month.

Have a nice day everyone!

With Love | Shaker Tag!

Hello friends,
Today I am sharing a shaker tag which I had created to play along the Winnie and Walter 3rd Birthday Challenges. It's my first ever shaker tag and I have shared about it on my Instagram with a small video. If you follow me on Instagram I am sure you have seen this before :)

Here's a look at my tag :

To create my tag, I first die cut a tag window using the Lawn Fawn Tag You're It die. I then added a piece of acetate on the back side. The back panel of the shaker tag is stamped with the  Mini Scenery: Multigrain using the Aqua Mist ink from Papertrey Ink. Then I added some sequins to the centre and foam mounted my acetate panel on it. The focal flower and leaves are from my all time favorite Winnie and Walter Set : The Big,The Bold and The Extras. I have stamped the flowers and leaves using Altenew Crisp Inks. The sentiment of the tag is from the Happiest of Holidays with Evelin T Designs. Finally I finished my tag by tying some colorful Jute cords on the top.

I will be entering my tag in the following W & W challenges:
  1. Sequin Challenge with Kate
  2. Bright Colours Challenge with Lydia
  3. Mood Board Challenge with Heather P {Inspired by the Teal, Black and the Florals from the picture}
  4. Three Challenge with Shay (I have used three colors on my tag - Red, Teal and Green)

I hope you like my tag. Do let me know your views on it. Thanks for stopping by!

Gift Tags!

Hello everyone,
I am back today sharing a few tags I have made using some Winnie and Walter stamps for their belated birthday celebration. I had a lot of fun watercoloring the images and creating watercolor background for these. Here's a look at the tags I have made :

To create my first tag I did some masking and stamped my image and sentiment before watercoloring that cute
bird from the Winnie & Walter set Happiest of Holidays with Evelin T Designs. The background is stencilled with some distress inks using Winnie & Walter Creative Screening Scenery - Do You See What I See? Creative Screenings.

For my second tag, I used a black cardstock as my base and stamped and heat embossed the dotted wreath using Ranger Super Fine Gold embossing powder and Winnie & Walter stamp - Comfort + Joy. The flowers and leaves are from Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Hollie's Festive Florals and The Write Stuff: Leave it to Mom. The sentiment is from the Happiest of Holidays with Evelin T Designs stamp set.

The third tag was pretty quick to make! I just stamped the flower and leaves from the In Bloom : Anna's flora set and water colored it using Distress inks. The sentiment is from Happiest of Holidays with Evelin T Designs  I masked it and stamped it one by one.

I am entering these tags in the following challenges :

Winnie and Walter Second Birthday celebration - Anything but a card with Kate
Winnie and Walter Second Birthday celebration - Floral challenge with Lydia

'You Anchor me' !

Hello friends,
Today I have a Nautical masculine card to share with you all. It's so not my usual style and my first real attempt at a Masculine card.So without further ado, here's a look at what I have made! :)

 And  an another view :
To create the base of my card I have used a Woodgrain embossing folder. I cut the paper into long strips measuring 3/4 of an inch by 3 inch and embossed it in the embossing folder, then I distressed it using Vintage Photo and Scattered Straw Distress inks and tried to create the wooden plank kind of effect we see on water fronts! I have created the Sailor's knot on the either side of the sentiment banner and added a die-cut 'You' and stamped my sentiment using Lawn Fawn Harol'ds ABC stamp set.

Incidentally the sentiment banner is made from the smallest of the Timeless Tags 2 from Wplus9. I used the partial die cutting technique to create a long base for it so that it could be held by the sailor's knot on the two sides. So love using my dies in a creative way :) The life- buoy ring I have made using two circle dies and distressed it with Peacock Feather's Distress ink. The anchor in the centre is a wooden MDF piece which I have heat embossed using Ranger Super Fine Silver Embossing powder on a MDF base and the four golden brads that you see on the corners are actually plain flat-backed pearls which I first coated in Versamark Ink pad, then completely covered it with Gold UTEE(Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) and heat-set it and voila! you have a gorgeous golden brad-like embellishments and nobody will know the difference! *Winks*

Here's a quick tutorial on how I created these Faux brads :

Hope you find this tip useful and that's about all the information regarding my card ! If you have been with me till now thank you so much for your patience :) I really wanted to share all the tips and tricks which went into making this card as I really had a lot of fun creating it !

Supplies used :

Embossing folder : Woodgrain Embossing folder from Darice.
