Guest Post | Paru's Card Making Challenges

Hello fellow crafters,
Wishing all of you a very Happy New Year 2017!
I'm so glad to be joining Paru's challenge as a Guest Designer today. It's an absolute honour to be invited. I love playing along with her challenges. They are always so interesting.

I have created a card and two tags for the challenge this month. I wanted them to look like a set, so I have used the same stamp set & colour combinations for all of them. I wanted the sentiments to be generic so as to be given as a gift set.

To create my card, I have used the Altenew Painted Flowers set. I also used Altenew inks for coloring. I stamped & die-cut the flowers and leaves using the coordinating dies. This made my work so much more easier. Then I die-cut a panel using a Paper Smooches Border die to create a frame. The sentiment comes from another Altenew set- Label Love. I added few black paint splatters & silver stars and sequins for the finishing touches.

To create my tags, I have used the Lawn Fawn - Tag You're It stamp & coordinating die set to stamp and die-cut the tags. I gold embossed the outline of one of the tags to add some extra interest. I used the Altenew Painted Flowers set for the flowers and the sentiment is from the same Lawn Fawn set. I added few Nuvo Crystal dots to embellish it a bit and tied some silver & gold mesh ribbon along with thin black ribbon to finish them off!

I'm entering my card in the Altenew Inspiration Challenge. I'm playing along with Amy's June Challenge.

Please visit Paru's blog and don't forget to play along her challenge. I would love to hear what you think about my card & tags!

Thank you so much for dropping by!

Wish you the most beautiful day!

Hello friends,
I have a card to share today and it's a watercolored card using the Winnie and Walter floral stamps. I had so much fun stamping and coloring these papers using my trusted, Distress inks, yet again! Here's a look at what I've created.

The gorgeous red rose is from Winnie and Walter - In Bloom: Elsa's Flora which has been stamped and watercolored using three shades of Distress inks - Abandoned Coral, Fired Brick & Vintage Photo.
The leaves are colored using Twisted Citron Distress ink and are from Winnie and Walter - In Bloom: Elsa's Flora & Winnie and Walter in Bloom - Anna's Flora.
The background trellis against which I have done my floral arrangement is also a beautiful stamp from Winnie and Walter called Mini Scenery - Do You See What I See? which I have gold embossed using Ranger Super Fine Gold embossing powder and watercolored that panel loosely using Distress inks!
I was pretty happy with the outcome of this card & I hope you all like it too!

I'm entering my card in the Winnie and Walter 2nd Belated Birthday Celebration challenges :-

Peek- a - boo Tic Tac Toe challenge ( I've chosen Flowers, Gold/Silver and Heat embossing!)

Winnie and Walter 2nd Birthday Celebrations - Take 2!

Hello friends,
I am  back again with a card today and I am pretty excited about it too....A few days ago I came across a card on Instagram created by Diane Jaquay and it had a plaid background which was created using Distress inks and flat brushes. I was so inspired by the gorgeous card that Diane had made that I had to give it a try and here's what I have created using this technique

 And a another view :
This is how I created the panel for my card using three different colors of Distress ink along with two different sizes of paint brush to create the plaid pattern.

To create my focal, I first die cut three circles using different sizes of circle die and I lightly colored my circles using Distress inks and foam mounted them in the centre of my card. The flowers and leaves are from the Winnie & Walter :In Bloom : Elsa's Flora and In Bloom : Anna's Flora
I die cut the banner using The big,the bold and Extra cutaways on a piece of Vellum and the sentiment is from the : The Big,the bold and extra stamp set using Versafine  Onyx Black ink.
I have water colored my flowers and leaves using various Distress inks on a piece of watercolored cardstock and fussy cut it before popping it up on my card panel.

I am entering my card in the following challenges :

Peek- a- boo Tic Tac Toe challenge ( I have selected Flowers, Sequins and Die cuts)

You are precious!!

Hello friends,
I have a card to share today and this one is way overdue. I had created this quite sometime back and shared a sneak peek on my instagram too but just now getting to blog about it.
I have a Valentines' day card to share using a stamp set from Varna's Creations. This is an Indian based stamp company run by a super sweet person Varshitha and she had sent across this set to me. :) Her stamps are high quality photopolymer stamps and give really good crisp impressions. I had lot of fun creating with this set and here's is what I have come up with :

To create the heart, I first stamped and heat embossed the image using Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder and watercolored the image using Distress inks- Fossilized Amber & Picked Raspberry. Then, I paper pieced the heart anf foam mounted it on my card base. To create my background, I inked a piece of white cardstock using Fossilized Amber, Abandoned Coral and Fired Brick Distress inks. The sentiment is from Winnie and Walter- Precious stamp set. I also did a partial bleaching technique using a Winnie and Walter stencil and water.

I am entering this card for Winnie and Walter's Belated 2nd Birthday bash : Gold + Watercolor challenge with Heather H.

I hope you like my card. Do leave your comments/suggestions. Would love to hear from you!
Have a nice day everyone!

Happy Day!

Hello friends,
I am on a roll these past few days and  I have yet another card to share with you all, but in my defence I am trying to use up all my hoarded stamps and trying to put them to good use. My today's card is especially created for the Ellen Hutson Mix It up challenge and I have gone all bold and dramatic this time around.

Here's a look at what I have created :

A side view :

To create my card, I first die cut a water color panel and then stencilled the background using MFT Petal Circle stencil and distress inks Cracked Pistachio and Fossilized Amber inks, then on a separate cardstock, I stamped and watercolored my flowers and leaves using Ellen Hutson Bold blooms set. I fussy cut the images and created my flower cluster and glued everything down. Then I used my Stampoholic tool to stamp the sentiment and the dots around my flower cluster and as a final touch added some white gem stones to my flower centre and my card was finished.
I was pretty happy with the end result as its quite a bit different from my usual style :)

I am also entering this card in the following challenges :

Paru's Cardmaking challenge : New
Word Art Wednesday # 217 : Anything Goes

Hope you all like my card. Please do let me know your views regarding it. I love hearing from you :)
Have a nice day everyone!

Hello !!

Hello friends,
I have a card to share today and it was made using Neat and Tangled stamp and dies which I have been hoarding for quite sometime now!
This is my first buy at a stamp and die combo and I was like a kid with a new toy while trying it out :D ...I stamped and colored all my images on the Fabriano Brustro watercolor paper and believe me this paper is a pain to fussy cut with especially with tiny images, but thankfully I had the cordinating die set to rescue :)

So here's a look at my card ...I have clicked it in all angles possible because I loved it that much :D

I told you didn't, I ?
Okay, so a little bit about how I went about creating this ...All the elements on my card are stamped and die cut ..The embroidery hoop does not have a co-ordinating die ..Its an another stand alone die which you can buy separately but alas I didn't have it so I improvised with my circle dies to cut the inner circle the outer part was fussy cut then watercolored with Vintage photo Distress ink and embossed with the Darice Woodgrain embossing folder to give it a more natural look. All the flowers and leaves and even the butterfly were watercolored with a combination of Distress inks and the Nirmal watercolors that I mentioned about in my last post here.
The background of my cardbase is embossed using Wendy Vecchi embossing paste to which I added a little bit of vintage photo ink and the stencil I used is from Winnie and Walter creative screenings (Do you see what I see).
Hope you all like my card.Would love to hear your views on it so do drop me a line :)

I am entering this card in the following challenges :
Little Tangles #64 : Hello
Paru's Cardmaking challenge : New
Stamping Smiles Design : Tic Tac Toe ( I have used the middle grid. (Sparkles, Embossing, New).

Have a nice day everyone!

Background Building- Thanks Card

Hello everyone!
I am on a card making spree these days and I have two cards to share today which I'll be posting in two separate blog posts. These cards are again created for the World Card Making Day celebration challenges at Winnie and Walter. I absolutely LOVE this company and I have really enjoyed using their stamps and dies in several of my cards.
Here's a look at my first card for today :

I created this card keeping in mind Shay's Background Building challenge. W & W has such great sentiment stamps and I really love using it to create my background as well as the main focal of my card. Their The Big, the Bold and Extras is one of my favorite stamp set and now that I have it's coordinating die, it's a win-win situation for me. :D
The black 'thanks' has been stamped, heat embossed and fussy cut and mounted on foam dots, so are the flowers and leaves. I stamped the background using Hero Arts Soft Granite ink. The sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.

I'm entering this in the Background  Building Challenge and BGC- Anything goes.
Hope you like my card. Please do drop in your comments/suggestions. I love hearing from you.

Have a nice day everyone!

Winnie & Walter Birthday Celebrations- Part 2

Hello friends.
This is the part 2 of the Winnie and Walter Birthday Celebrations challenge. I have two more cards to share. The linky closes in just an hour, so this is going to be a very quick post.
My first card is based on the Gradient Challenge by Vanessa. Here's a look at what I have created :

To create my gradient, I have used different shades of yellow and orange Distress inks and stenciled the background using the MFT Moroccan Tile stencil. After I stenciled it, I sprayed the background with plain water to create the watercolor effect. I have done two-toned stamping on my flowers which are from the Winnie & Walter- The Big, the Bold and Extras set. The sentiment is from the Winnie & Walter- The Big, the Bold and You stamp set. The leaves have been colored using Inka gold after I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black ink pad. Everything has been popped on foam dots to give dimension to my card.

Supplies used :
Cardstock base- Campap
Die- Paper Smooches Dots and Dashes Borders.
Inks- Versafine Onyx Black ink pad, Distress inks- Squeezed lemonade, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Dried Marigold.
MFT Moroccan Tile Stencil, Inka Gold, Prima Epiphany Ephemera Pack, Sequins.

Challenges entered :
Just us Girls challenge- Sentiment as the focal point.
Crafts 4 Eternity- No pattern paper.
The Crafters cafe challenge- Make your own background.
SSS- Anything Goes

My second card is based on Lea's Mood Board challenge :

My take on the mood board :

I was inspired by the various elements of the mood board -The polka dot tissue, the scattered glitter and the soft pink gloves. To create the polka dot banner, I stenciled Inka Gold onto a vellum paper using a Heidi Swapp stencil. The woodgrain circle, I have die-cut and embossed using a woodgrain embossing folder. The doily behind, I have watercolored using Spun Sugar Distress re-inker, scattered some punched out glittered hearts and have placed a scalloped border behind the circle. The sentiment has been stamped and fussy-cut from the Winnie and Walter- The Big, the Bold and You stamp set which has been gold heat embossed and adhered to the card. I have coated the flowers and the background with Stickles Platinum, but unfortunately it doesn't show through the picture. The background has been stamped using a Hero Arts/Basic Grey background stamp using Spun Sugar Distress ink which is also not showing through. :(
I'm also entering this in Gayatri's CAS + Freestyle/ Collage challenge

Cardstock base- Campap, Paper Accents Vellum Sheets.
