Hello, crafty friends!
Welcome to Day 4 of the Altenew 5th Anniversary Blog Hop! I am so honoured to be a part of this exciting Anniversary Celebration. Altenew has turned 5 and we are here to celebrate this wonderful occasion with lots of inspiration and awesome prizes! Enjoy hopping along! If you’ve arrived here from Gayatri Murali's blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!
I have been a die-hard Altenew fan since Day 1! I clearly remember, my first ever Altenew stamp set was the Vintage Flowers Stamp set and I still cannot have enough of it. Altenew makes some of the most stunning layered floral stamps which are such a delight and joy to work with! Here's wishing Tasnim, Jennifer, and the entire team at Altenew a very Happy 5th Birthday! I can't wait to see what is in store in the months to come. :)
I have made TWO cards for today's hop, so without further ado, let's dive in!
My first card features the Beautiful Peony Stamp & Die Bundle, Garden Picks 3D Die Set, and the Layered Floral Elements Die Set.
To create this card, I first stamped by stamping the peony flowers from the Beautiful Peony Stamp Set using Versamark Dazzle ink. Next, I heat embossed them using Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder. I also stamped and heat embossed some leaves from the same set. I water coloured the images using the Sunkissed and Crimson Brush Markers from the Watercolor Brush Markers - Tropical Fiesta Set.
I die cut all the images using the coordinating Beautiful Peony Die Set. Next, I took the Sketched Lines Stencil and did some light stenciling on my card using the Altenew Limestone Ink. Once my panel was ready, I adhered all the stamped and die cut images on foam dots. I also added few die cut leaves and foliage from the Garden Picks 3D Die Set and the Layered Floral Elements Die Set which were again coloured using the Sweet Leaf and Lime Brush Markers from the Watercolor Brush Markers - Tropical Fiesta Set.
The sentiment comes from the Heartfelt Sentiments Stamp Set. I added a strip of patterned paper and Gold Washi Tape on the bottom of my card panel to finish off my card.
My second card again features the Garden Picks 3D Die Set, and the Layered Floral Elements Die Set, along with the Doodled Dots Cover Die.
I am very happy with the way this card turned out because this is how I had exactly envisioned it when I had started off. I die cut several layered flowers and leaves from the Layered Floral Elements Die Set and the Garden Picks 3D Die Set from White Cardstock. I coloured them using the Purple Wine and Lava Rock Brush Markers from the Watercolor Brush Markers - Tropical Fiesta Set. I diluted the Purple Wine colour with a lot of water to get a soft pink. I did the same thing for the leaves as well.
To add some interest to my card design, I used the Doodled Dots Cover Die to deboss my card panel. I coloured the panel using the Fresh Lemon Brush Marker. Then, I die cut some circle rings using the Create-A-Wreath Die Set and arranged them in a way that would balance my card design. I also adhered the entire floral cluster to the left side of my card. To complete my card, I added a sentiment strip cut from White Cardstock. The sentiment is again from the Heartfelt Sentiments Stamp Set.
This is how the final card looks like. I also added few Sparkling Clear Sequins and black pint splatters to finish off my card.
