MFT Florals | Card One

Hello, friends!
Today I have two cards to share. I'll be sharing the first card here and the second one in the next post.
After a very longggg time, I have made cards to participate in challenges. I have been so tied up with all my DT work that I have recently not got any time to play with the new goodies in my stash.
I made this card for the MFT Superstar Contest. I'm literally giving a last moment entry. This contest has been so popular that people have been entering in this contest through all medias.  Here's a look at my card first :

Although, I have a lot of dies from MFT & even stencils, I seem to have only one stamp from this company which I recently got & that is the Desert Blooms. I've used this set to create both my cards. Also, I have die-cut some glitter flourishes using the Die-namics Fancy Flourish.
This card was pretty easy to put together. I did some light blending on a piece of cardstock using Tumbled Glass Distress ink, added some black & gold coloured splatters, stamped the flowers & leaves & fussy-cut them and popped them on foam dots and adhered everything on my card base along with a stitched die-cut circle which was colored using distress inks as well. Finally added a die cut sentiment to finish off my card.

Supplies used :
Off - white cardstock, MFT Desert Blooms Stamp Set, MFT Fancy Flourish die, Distress inks, Altenew inks, Gina Marie Stitched Circle dies, Die-Versions 'Celebrate' Sentiment die.

I hope you like my card. Please do leave me your views regarding it. Would love to hear from you.

Celebrate

Hi friends,
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year.
Hope this year fulfills all the expectations you have and brings you a lot of joy and hope.

I wanted to start this new year by sharing a card I made using my favorite Altenew stamp ..This is one of their older release but I recently laid hand on it for the first time and I was quite happy to play with it...The only catch for me though is this stamp has open images meant for coloring and I have quite limited skills when it comes to coloring :( Nevertheless, I gave it a go using a new coloring medium which was gifted to me by a dear friend and fellow blogger Tejal...Its the Nirmal transparent watercolor booklet. This is small book which is filled with vibrant colors something along the lines of Peerless watercolors. I really had fun working with it.
And here's what I have created with it :

And a  close up of the glittered sentiment which is die cut from glitter washi tape:

To create this card, I first stamped and heat embossed images from Persian Motif set and colored it using the Nirmal transparent water colors. The butterfly is from the  Altenew Wild Hibiscus set and the  stripes on the side panel is stamped and heat embossed using a Bo Bunny stamp. Finished this card with some sequins from Winnie and Walter and spattered some droplets on the card using the same colors as the ones used for coloring the image.

Before I created this card, I first practised my coloring skills on some gift tags!
Here they are :

Hope you like my card and tags!
Before I end this post I have some happy news to share. I have been selected as design team member for the PPS blog. PPS is an UAE based online craft store and I am quite thrilled to join their team. I can't wait to start working with the talented ladies on the team.

I am entering my card in the following challenges :
Paru's cardmaking challenge : New.
Stamping smiles Design : Tic Tac Toe (I have used the  middle row embossing, sparkle and new).

Celebrate your day !

Hello Friends,
I am back again with a card again but before I get into the details regarding that, I wanted to take a moment to wish all my Muslim friends a very Happy Ramadan Kareem. The holy month of Ramadan has started and so has the fasting, prayers and the festivities surrounding it. This month is really hectic for me and if you don't see me drop by all your blogs, please bear with me as my energy levels are quite low. Will make up to all of you soon :)

Well, that said, let me dive right into what I have to share today..Ofcourse, its a card...No surprises there :D, but this time I am trying something quite new to me as I try to CASE the creative genius Jocelyn Olson and her style of card making, which is totally unique and quite brilliant.

Here's a look at my card :

Taheerah, at the Winnie and Walter blog has invited Jocelyn for this time's Gossip Column challenge and she has challenged us to create a card based on Jocelyn's style of card making. For my card, I have been inspired by Jocelyn's card below. The way she has used soft colours, unusual card design and various elements is fabulous. I would have never thought of trimming my card panel to an angle and adhering an embossed panel over it..To me, thats sheer genius!
 Here's a look at Jocelyn's card :
I have used my very fave set from Winnie and Walter- The Big, the Bold and Extras to create the entire card. This set not only has fabulous flowers and leaves, but some of the best sentiments too! I have been inspired by the design and the colors and have incorporated various elements from Jocelyn's card in my card. Hope you all like my take as this loose eclectic style of card designing is quite new to me.

Supplies used :
Iris White cardstock.
Dies/embossing folders- Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Paper Smooches Dots and Dashes, Spellbinders Standard Ovals, Die Versions Sweet Wordlets Celebrate die, Mama Elephant Confetti die, Cuttlebug/ Provocraft Foundry embossing folder, Creative Expressions/Sue Wilson Faux Quilled Leaves die.
Stamps- Winnie and Walter The Big, the Bold and Extras.
Inks- Versafine Onyx Black ink pad, Mama Elephant Fresh Mint ink pad, Memento Dandelion ink.
Heidi Swapp Color Shine Gold Lame mist, Viva Decor Inka Gold, Pretty Pink Posh/Winnie and Walter First Birthday Bash Sequins.

I am entering this card in the Winnie and Walter Gossip Column challenge, Catchy Challenges ( I have been inspired by the soft yellow and blue color from the moodboard), Beyond Grey Challenges and Simon Says Stamp challenge. (My favorite techniques are dry embossing, spattering and die cutting).

Hope you like my card do leave your comments/suggestions. Would love to hear from you :)

Celebrate with White on White

Helllo friends!
Today I have got a card to share based on the Cheery Lynn challenge this week which is to create a White on White card.
These cards are really difficult to photograph as one is never able to capture the true color and beauty of the creation. I find it very challenging to create something which is devoid of colors because I believe, that colors are the USP of my creations. I love working with colors and color is the thing which attracts me the most to any piece of art or work.
Having said that, here's a look at what I have created :

Close up of the flowers :

For this creation I wanted to play with textures and layers, a little bit of mixed media look without actually using any colors and this is what I have created :D..I did some stenciling using texture paste and stencil to create the background of my card and to give it a shabby torn look. I tore a bit of paper on the top and bottom and inlaid a doily in the space. To create the focal of my card I started first by layering Cheery Lynn Sophia's Heart doily die then placed my floral arrangement on it by creating the flowers using Shasta daisy flower die. The leaves and the foliage are also from various Cheery Lynn dies. I die-cut my sentiment using a Die-versions wordlet die and adhered it to my card base using Glue Dots. I have highlighted the entire card using White glitter glue to give it a little bit of sparkle.

Supplies used :
Card base- Campap
Dies :
Cheery Lynn Shasta Daisy die.
Cheery Lynn Sophia's heart Mini doily die.
Cheery Lynn French Pastry Mini doily die.
Cheery Lynn Flourish Leaf strip die.
Cheery Lynn Olive branches die.
Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die.
Die-Versions Wordlets die.
Stencil- Prima Marketing Damask
Camel Texture White, Glitter tape, Rhinestones and Glitter glue.

Challenges entered :
Cheery Lynn- Winter Whites
CardMania- Make it Sparkle
We Do Doobadoo- Romantic Whites ( Made it to Top 3 )
Dies R Us- Anything goes with Something New ( My new dies used are the Cheery Lynn Shasta Daisy die and Cheery Lynn Flourish strip die).
Frosted Designs- White as a Snowflake ( Made it to the Top 3 )
Simply Create Too- Let's Celebrate

Hope you like my card. I would love to hear your thoughts on it. :)
Have a nice day everyone!
