Hello friends!
I am so excited to be joining Spellbinders today for their 15th August 2018 Blog Hop featuring two brand new collections - Special Moments by Marisa Job and Inked Messages by Stephanie Low. If you are here from the Spellbinders blog, then you're on the right track! I also have a full blog hop list at the end of the post.
I have already shared a couple of cards using the Special Moments Collection by Marisa Job on my blog HERE, HERE, and HERE. You can check them out for more inspiration using this wonderful collection.
I have two projects to share using this collection today: a Gift Box and a coordinating Gift Tag! I hope you enjoy seeing what I have made. Here's a look at my projects:
To create this gift box, I first started by die cutting the Shapeabilities Heart Flower Box die from Neenah 110LBS Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I recently received this die from Spellbinders and my hands were itching to try it out. :) This die is simply amazing, and creates gift boxes in a jiffy! I made the base of the box using White cardstock, while for the lid, I die cut the main box die from a custom patterned paper from Papericious.
I wanted my lid to have an oval aperture on the front, so after die cutting it from patterned paper, I used the Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM Etched die set to cut an oval aperture. Next, I die cut the netted oval die from the Floral Oval Etched Die set and adhered it over the oval aperture. I coloured the die cut using a light blue ink.
I wanted to keep the embellishing super simple and clean, so I decided to die cut several flowers from the Laced Flower Etched die set. I stacked the die cuts one on top of the other for adding dimension. For the foliage, I used the Swirls Border Etched die set, which I then coloured using a green dye ink. I also added some rose buds, fillers, and leaves from my stash.
Here is a closer look at the flower. It is so detailed and beautiful. Perfect for making your own floral embellishments!
And here is another view of the gift box!
My next project is a gift tag. If you have been following my blog for a while, you'd know that these are one of my all time favourites to make! :) I created a double-layer gift tag, so that the recipient can write their message on the inside.
I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles SM Etched dies for creating the base of the tag. I die cut it twice, once from patterned paper, and the other from White heavy weight cardstock. I wanted this one to be a bit ornate, so I die cut a frame from Gold Foil cardstock using the Special Day Frame Etched Dies. I die cut a circle in the centre of this die cut frame so that I'd have only the outer frame. I have a little crafty hack to share here - If you have seen the die, you'd know that the frame is circular in shape and not an oval one. I wanted the frame to fit on my tag, so I simply snipped the frame in half (vertically) and then adhered the two pieces together so that it would fit on my tag. I hope I am able to explain this step properly.
The flowers were made using the flowers dies included in the Floral Oval Etched die set. I have used light pink Foamiran sheets for creating them. I added some details in the flower centres using Alcohol markers to make them stand out a bit.
The leaves on the top of the tag were cut using Olive Foamiran, while on the bottom, I die cut them from White cardstock using the Floral Oval Etched die set. I added a sentiment piece and few enamel dots to complete my tag.
