Hi Friends and fellow bloggers :)
This is the original box. Sorry, I forgot to click the pictures before I had applied a layer of Gesso on it. I just remembered about it, after the first layer had been applied. But,as you can see , it's an old box in which I had received some homemade chocolates from a friend. I applied two coats of Gesso to it, before I began decorating it.
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge : Embossing ( I have done embossing with texture paste )
613 avenue Creates : Anything goes
Today I am sharing with you an Altered gift box which I have made for my Guest Designer post for Color Conceptions blog where their current Challenge is '3 B's -Bags/Boxes/Baskets ' As many of you know, I love making boxes, bags and altered stuff, and when Priya invited me for the Guest Design post, I knew right away that I wanted to share an up-cycled heart-shaped box which was lying in my stash, begging to be altered for quite some time now :P I won't bore you all with a lot of details and rather just take you to the photographs of the box and how I have upcycled it. So, let's begin with the pictures which I will then, follow up with the explanations!
After applying Gesso, I have covered the box with some pattern papers from the DCWV Fresh Florals stack, on the top, sides, and bottom using Mod Podge Then, did some stenciling on the top using Texture paste from Camlin and The 'Mini-Hexagons' Stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and distressed all the edges of the box with Spun sugar Distress ink, as my base paper is also pink. Then, I embellished the top with handmade flowers using Spellbinder's Rose Creations die colored with Distress Inks -Tumbled Glass Spun Sugar and Mustard Seed, MDF Flourish, Pollens ,Tulle and Pearls.
The sides panels are embellished with crotchet laces and some Martha Stewart punched Doily laces.
I hope you like my upcycled project! Please do leave me your comments/suggestions would love to hear from you :)
