Spellbinders Cardmaker II Collection | Guest Post

Hello, crafty friends!
I’m so thrilled to be guest designing on the Spellbinders blog using the new Cardmaker II Stamp Collection. The beautifully illustrated images in this collection inspired me to create three easy and fun cards for a variety of occasions.

My first project features the Love Never Fails Stamp Set and the New Start Stamp Set. I fell in love with the floral images in the Love Never Fails Stamp Set and had to use them right away for my Slimline Card. This set comprises of 20 clear photopolymer stamps and one can create a wonderful bouquet of flowers to a field of blooms using it. It's very versatile!

To create my card, I first stamped the various images from the Love Never Fails onto Snowdrift Cardstock using Pink Diamond and Rubellite inks for the blooms and Bamboo and Fresh Leaf inks for the leaves and foliage. Once I had all my images stamped, I fussy-cut them out using a pair of scissors.

Next, I stamped the butterflies from the New Start Stamp Set using Versamark Embossing ink onto Snowdrift Cardstock and used the Journey Gold Embossing Powder to heat-emboss the images with the help of a Heat Tool. I coloured the wings of the butterflies using the Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers and fussy-cut the images using  a pair of scissors, leaving a small white border. Then, I die cut Vellum using the Circle 2 Die from the Nestabilities Hemstitch Circles Etched Dies. Once that was done, I die cut Snowdrift Cardstock using the Medium Circle Outer Rim, Insert, and Inner Rim Dies from the Fluted Classics Circle Etched Dies

Next, I die cut Snowdrift Cardstock using the Large Rectangle Rim and Insert Dies from the the Hemstitch Slimline Etched Dies and embossed the panel using the Diagonal Stripes Slimline Embossing Folder. I then flicked some Gold and Black Acrylic Paint on my panel using a paint brush for a fun splatter effect.

Then to assemble my card, I adhered the stamped and die cut images down on my panel using foam adhesive for dimension. The butterflies were adhered down in the centre of the panel using Liquid Glue and I added some pink rhinestones to the body for interest. Next, I used Gold Hot Foil to foil Onyx Cardstock using one of the sentiments from the Mini Sincere Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and cut it out using the coordinating die. I adhered the piece onto my panel using foam tape for a raised effect. Then, to complete, I mat my background panel with Pink Sand Cardstock before adhering it to a side-folding white card base measuring 3.5″ x 8.5″ with tape runner.

My next card features the Embroidery Flowers Clear Stamp Set. The beautiful flowers and leaves in the set can be used for so many different occasions. I combined them with the Essential Duo Lines Glimmer Squares and added them to an embossed background for this bright and cheery card.

To create my card, I first stamped the floral images from the Embroidery Flowers Clear Stamp Set onto Snowdrift Cardstock using Velvet ink. Next, I stamped the various leaf and foliage images from the Love Never Fails and Embroidery Flowers Stamp Sets onto Snowdrift Cardstock using Hazelnut ink. Once I had all my images stamped, I fussy-cut them out using a pair of scissors, leaving a tiny white border.

Next, to create the diamond frames for the centre of my card, I die cut Snowdrift Cardstock using the Large Square Outer Rim and Insert Dies from the Fluted Classics Square Etched Dies. I then applied Gold Hot Foil to the die-cut piece using the Square Two Glimmer Plate from the Essential Duo Lines Glimmer Squares Glimmer Hot Foil Plate. Next, I die cut Snowdrift Cardstock using the Small Square Die from the Fluted Classics Square Etched Dies and applied Gold Hot Foil to the die-cut piece using the Square Six Glimmer Plate from the Essential Duo Lines Glimmer Squares Glimmer Hot Foil Plate. Then, to create my sentiment panel, I die cut Snowdrift Cardstock using the coordinating Small Square Die from the Fluted Classics Square Etched Dies and stamped a sentiment from the Embroidery Flowers Set using Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Once that was done, I trimmed a piece of Snowdrift Cardstock to size and embossed the card panel using the Scallops Embossing Folder. I really love the subtle texture it adds to the background! Next, I adhered down the foiled frames, the sentiment piece, and my floral arrangement to my panel using a combination of foam adhesive and Liquid Glue. All that was left to do now was to mat my card background using Mirror Gold Cardstock before adhering it down to a top-folding white card base with tape runner.

My last card for today features the Embroidery Flowers Clear Stamp Set again. I adhered a couple of die cut pieces around the sweet stamped image for an encouragement card.

This one was very simple and straight-forward to put together. To begin, I stamped the floral image from the Embroidery Flowers Set onto Snowdrift Cardstock using Volcano Lake ink. Next, I masked the image with a Post-It Note and stamped the leaf and foliage images from the stamp set using Olive ink. Then, I stamped the smallest flower to the right using Mountain Mist ink.

Next, I die cut the image using the Large Oval Insert Outer Rim and Insert Dies from the Fluted Classics Ovals Die Set. Then, I centered my Glimmer Plate and applied Gold Hot Foil to my piece using the Oval Three Plate from the Essential Duo Lines Glimmer Ovals Glimmer Hot Foil Plate.

Next, I used the Circular Stitch Outline die to cut the background panel out of Snowdrift Cardstock. Then, to add some visual interest, I die cut the Large Rectangle Outer Rim and Insert Die together from the Fluted Classics Rectangles Etched Dies out of Snowdrift Cardstock. I affixed the panels together using Liquid Glue and adhered down my stamped piece on it using foam adhesive for dimension.   Next, I applied Gold Hot Foil to Onyx Cardstock using one of the sentiments from the Mini Sincere Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and cut it out using the coordinating die. I adhered the piece onto my panel using foam tape for a raised effect. I then added a spray of blue rhinestones to embellish my panel. Finally, to complete, I mat my background panel with Waterfall Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding white card base with tape runner.

Spellbinders Sparkling Christmas Glimmer Collection | Card & Cottage Box

Hello, crafty friends!
I hope you're all doing well and are staying safe! I have a Card and Gift Box to share today using the stunning Glimmer Plates from the Spellbinders Sparkling Christmas Glimmer Collection. I simply LOVE the products in this release as they are so creative and versatile and perfect for creating all kinds of holiday projects!

The Christmas Sweater Borders set has three border plates in varying heights with each having a different classic holiday sweater design. I love all three designs in this set and decided to use them together to create my card background. I used my Glimmer Hot Foil System to foil the plates on to my Cardstock piece using the Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Gold. I simply love the rich, luscious look against white!

Next, I took a piece of Light Pink Textured Cardstock and embossed the panel using the Layered Scallops Embossing Folder from Fun Stampers Journey. This is one of my all-time favourite folders and I love using it on my projects!

Once my card panels were adhered down, it was time to embellish my card. I decided to create some poinsettia flowers using the Glimmer Poinsettia Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. I foiled the flowers and leaves using Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Gold and Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Rose Gold on some Whip Cream Cardstock and then die cut them using the coordinating dies. I loved the look of the flowers as is, but I decided it to take it a notch higher and create 3D flowers. I embossed the petals and added light pink Crystals in the centres to jazz them up. I also die cut some leaves from regular Cardstock and colored them using Lemon Grass Ink. I coloured the hot foiled leaves using Sweet Pear Ink to bring it all in together.

The sentiment is from the Holiday Sentiments Series 2 Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. I used the Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Gold on Whip Cream Cardstock to foil my sentiment. Then, I die cut another coordinating sentiment strip in pink to further accentuate it. To complete my card, I added some Pink Crystals.

I love this particular die set from Amazing Paper Grace as it's so darn cute yet elegant at the same time. Plus it comes with a plethora of add-on accessories to embellish the box which is so neat! I created a coordinating Gift Box to go along with my Card and I am quite happy with how it turned out!

For my box, I first die cut the base from Whip Cream Cardstock using the Shapeabilities Charming Cottage Box Etched Dies. Next, I used the Christmas Sweater Borders Glimmer Hot Foil Plate to foil the borders on the box using Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Gold. Once this was done, I assembled the box and kept it aside.

I wanted to keep the embellishing super simple so as to not take away from the beauty of the foiled borders. I decided to use the same poinsettia flowers that I used for my Card to embellish my Box too. I foiled the flower from the Glimmer Poinsettia Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set using Rose Gold Foil. Then, I die cut them using the coordinating dies and embossed the centres for a more natural look. I repeated the same process for the leaves. This time, I wanted to have a pop of colour in my arrangement, so I die cut a flower from Blush Cardstock and added gold glitter balls to the centre to accentuate it. Then I adhered everything together to create my floral spray.

To complete my project, I added a die-cut sentiment tag. I stamped my sentiment on the tag using Rustic Rose Ink and then die cut it and popped it over on my box.  I also added some Pink Crystals here and there for added interest.

Thanks for joining me today to take a look at the new Christmas Collections from Spellbinders. I would love to hear what you think of my projects. :)

Card Kit of the Month Membership

I have FOUR Card ideas to share with you today using this kit, so let's get started!

My first Card features the Feeling Hoppy Paper PadFeeling Hoppy Die Cut Shapes Set, and the Dies from the Kit.

To create my card, I first picked out a patterned paper for my card background from the Feeling Hoppy Paper Pad. Next, I die cut a scalloped oval from White Cardstock and the ears of the bunny from Gold Mirror Cardstock. Both of these dies are included in the Feeling Hoppy Card Kit

To embellish my card, I used several die cuts from the Feeling Hoppy Die Cut Shapes Set. I also added some mini purple flowers for my foliage. This foliage die is so pretty and has become a recent favourite! :) I also picked out a sentiment tile from the Feeling Hoppy Die Cut Shapes Set and popped it on my card panel. This card was so quick and easy to put together!

My second Card features the Feeling Hoppy Paper Pad, Love Stripes Embossing Folder, and the Feeling Hoppy Die Cut Shapes Set.

For this card, I first took a piece of White Cardstock and embossed it using the Fun Stampers Journey Love Stripes Embossing Folder and trimmed it. Next, I picked out a patterned paper design from the Feeling Hoppy Paper Pad and trimmed it to fit on my card panel. I cut it at a diagonal to add some interest to the design.

I took out my Feeling Hoppy Die Cut Shapes Set and picked out several die cut images which would work for my card. I adhered these pieces together to form my focal. Finally, I added a sentiment banner to complete my card which was also from the Feeling Hoppy Die Cut Shapes Set.

My third card features the Feeling Hoppy Paper PadFeeling Hoppy Die Cut Shapes Set, and the Stamp set from the Kit.

This one is a bit different from my other two cards as I have used stamped images for my design. To create this one, I first stamped the bunnies and carrots from the Feeling Hoppy Stamp Set using Versafine Onyx Black Ink on Whip Cream Cardstock. I coloured the images, fussy cut them, and kept them aside. Next, I pulled out two patterned papers from the Feeling Hoppy Paper Pad. I adhered the striped patterned paper design to my card panel. Then, I die cut two circles using the Nestabilities Standard Circles SM Etched Dies from the other patterned paper to create a window to stamp the bunnies.

Next, I stamped two bunnies on Whip Cream Cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black Ink, which I later trimmed to fit my card base. Next, I adhered the die cut patterned paper over it. I also stamped some hearts and coloured them. To complete my card, I added a sentiment tab which was from the Feeling Hoppy Die Cut Shapes Set.

My last card features the Feeling Hoppy Paper PadFeeling Hoppy Die Cut Shapes Set, and the Dies from the Kit.

This one was again simple to put together. The adorable bunnies on this card are actually stickers which are a part of the Card Kit. I really loved them and wanted to use them on one of my cards! The background flowers are die cuts from the Feeling Hoppy Die Cut Shapes Set. I also added some small flowers which were die cut using the mini foliage die included in the Card Kit.

I also used a patterned paper from the Feeling Hoppy Paper Pad and adhered it to the bottom of my card. To complete my card, I used a die cut sentiment banner from the Feeling Hoppy Die Cut Shapes Set. And that's it. This card was done!

I have FIVE Cards to share with you today using this kit, so let's get started!

My first card features the Love the Moment Paper Pad, and the Love the Moment Die Cut Shapes Set.

This month's Card Kit is super gorgeous and I had a ball working with the floral images. To create this card, I picked out a patterned paper from the Love the Moment Paper Pad and adhered it on the right side of my card. Next, I used a couple of floral die cuts from the Love the Moment Die Cut Shapes Set and arranged them together in a cluster to create my focal.

I added a strip of Mirror Gold Cardstock to add some pizzazz to the design. Then, I added a sentiment piece and a butterfly from the Love the Moment Die Cut Shapes Set to complete my card design. I also adhered some pink rhinstones as the finishing touch for my card.

My next card is my favourite of the lot. I LOVE Vintage Cars and this month's "Love The Moment" Kit includes a fabulous die set to create your own customized cars. It is just perfect for creating Masculine Cards!
My card features the Love the Moment Paper Pad, and the Love the Moment Die Cut Shapes Set, along with the Club Die Set.

I used the Cardstock sheets given in the Card Kit to create my car. Once I die cut and assembled it together, I started working on the background of my card. I pulled out a foiled patterned paper from the Love the Moment Paper Pad and adhered it to the bottom of my card. I also adhered a contrasting background patterned paper which would work well with the rest of my card. Next, I grouped some die cuts from the Love the Moment Die Cut Shapes Set together to create the backdrop for my car. I wanted all the die cuts to be circular in shape, so I die cut certain die cut shapes using the Nestabilities Standard Circles SM Etched Dies and popped them on my card panel using foam dots.

This card was very fun to create and I really enjoyed the process. I always struggle with Masculine Cards and the Die Set in the Card Kit die set offers some great possibilities!

My third card is made using the Stamp Set included in the kit. I also used the Love the Moment Paper Pad on this card.

The background panel of my card features fussy cut floral motifs from a particular patterned paper design from the Love the Moment Paper Pad. I adhered these images all over my card panel and then trimmed it. Next, I die cut a frame in the centre using the Nestabilities Classic Squares SM Etched Dies. I then adhered two other frames over it to enhance the card design. I used the stamp set included in the Card Kit to stamp on the patterned paper to create the focal for my card.

I heat embossed the sentiment in gold to add some glam to my design. My card was almost done here - I simply added some red rhinestones as the finishing touch to my card.

My fourth card features the Love the Moment Paper Pad, and the Love the Moment Die Cut Shapes Set, and the Love the Moment 3 Sheet Sticker Pack.

This card was simple to put together. I again used a foiled patterned paper from the Love the Moment Paper Pad for my card background. Next, I used a 3D sticker from the Love the Moment 3 Sheet Sticker Pack and a couple of other stickers from the same pack to create my card focal. I combined the stickers with some die cuts from the Love the Moment Die Cut Shapes Set to create my design.

I also used gold shimmer leaves included in the Card Kit to add some sparkle and shine to my design. I love how this one turned out!

My last card for today features the Love the Moment Paper Pad, the Love the Moment Die Cut Shapes Set, and the Love the Moment 3 Sheet Sticker Pack.

For this card, I started by embossing a piece of White Cardstock using the Fun Stampers Journey Love Stripes Embossing Folder. Then, I adhered a patterned paper from the Love the Moment Paper Pad on the bottom of my card and a strip of Mirror Gold Cardstock in the centre. I used a number of floral die cut pieces from the Love the Moment Die Cut Shapes Set to create the floral cluster for my card. I also incorporated some gold shimmer paper leaves to balance the card design.

The sentiment was a die cut which was popped on foam dots. I backed the die cut with a gold scalloped circle to add some interest. I also added some sparkly rhinestones to complete my card design.
