Spellbinders & Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month | August 2021

Hello, crafty friends!
Hope you are doing well and staying safe!
I have a card to share today featuring the Spellbinders & Amazing Paper Grace August 2021 Die of the Month Set. This month's "Lattice Petal Foldover" Set is perfect for making gorgeous cards, gift boxes, note-card sets, and more in no time! This die set features 14 dies.

I have a couple of projects to share today featuring the Lattice Petal Foldover Set. The latticework is truly gorgeous and I loved creating with the different elements included in the die set. Becca's die designs are always so ingenious and this is yet another remarkable die set to have in your stash. I truly can't have enough of it!

My first project is a Shaped Card created using the foldover outline die, foldover inserts, and the inner square die with rim, and the filigree corners from the Lattice Petal Foldover Set.

I didn't have to do much to create this card because the dies all the work for me. To begin, I die cut Metallic Ivory Cardstock using the foldover outline die in the Lattice Petal Foldover Set using my Spellbinders Platinum 6" Machine. Next, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the foldover outline die and used the partial die-cutting technique to create a hinged card base. If you don't know how to create one, you can check out Becca Feeken's tutorial HERE where she demonstrates how to create it in a lucid manner.  Once my card base was die cut, scored, and folded, I adhered the foldover insert dies to the wings of the outline die cut with removable tape and ran it through my die cut machine to die cut the intricate lattice framework.

Next, I die cut the filigree corner die four times out of Gold Mirror Cardstock to tuck in beneath the square motif die cut. Then, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the inner square die to create the centerpiece for my card. Once that was done, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the smallest square piece included in the die set for my sentiment piece. I stamped my sentiment in the centre of the die cut using Black Licorice ink and attached it to my panel using foam squares.

Next, I die cut Snowdrift Cardstock with the mini flower and leaf sprig dies from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies. I coloured each of the floral die cut pieces using Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Distress inks and embossed them using the small ball tip from the Ultimate Tool Kit by Susan's Garden. This is my go-to tool kit for flower shaping and embossing and I do recommend getting it if you are an avid flower maker or enthusiast. Once I had embossed the pieces, I added some pollens to the centres of the flowers for a realistic look. Similarly, the leaves were coloured using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress inks. I shaped the tips of the leaves using the medium ball tip from the Ultimate Tool Kit. Then, to complete the floral bunch, I adhered a shaded mulberry flower, the coordinating filler flowers, die cut leaves, and a pink satin ribbon bow.

I adhered the latticework die cut to my card base with foam adhesive. I then popped the square motif onto the card panel using foam adhesive. I simply love the delicate and lacey look of the die cuts! What do you think?!

My next project is a handmade Gift Box with a set of two note-cards. This is the most darling thing ever!

Becca's die designs are always very versatile and they lend themselves so well to a consortium of papercrafting projects! I used the dies included in the Lattice Petal Foldover Set to create the lid of the box. This box measures. 4.5 inches X 4.5 inches and is 2.25 inches deep. I trimmed a piece of Pink Sand Cardstock to 9 X 9 inches and scored the paper on all four sides at 2.25 inches to create the lid for my box. Similarly, for the base, I trimmed a piece of Alabaster Cardstock to 8 3/4 inch X 8 3/4 inch and scored at 2.25 inches on all four sides. I adhered the flaps together using Red Liner Tape to create the base of the box.

I then used the domed lattice arch die from the Lattice Petal Foldover Set to die cut an aperture in the centre of the lid of the box. I also die cut the arches from Gold Mirror Cardstock and slightly offset the two pieces to create the illusion of depth without an excessive amount of bulk.

Once that was done, I scored, folded and adhered the flaps together to create the finished lid. I adhered a piece of pink satin ribbon in between the two domed lattice arch pieces to give it a more finished look. Next, I die cut Snowdrift Cardstock with the mini flower dies from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies. I coloured the centres of the die cut pieces using Picked Raspberry Distress ink and embossed them using the small ball tip from the Ultimate Tool Kit by Susan's Garden. Once I had embossed the pieces, I added some pollens to the centres of the flowers. Similarly, the leaves were coloured using Twisted Citron Distress ink. I shaped the tips of the leaves using the small ball tip from the Ultimate Tool Kit

I arranged the flowers and leaves together to create a cluster and added them to the box using glue dots. Then, as the finishing touch, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock and Gold Mirror Cardstock using the corner filigree die and slightly offset the pieces to create the shadow layer. I die cut four set of corners to attach to all four sides of the box. Then, as the finishing touch, I adhered white pearls to the corner filigree pieces and domed lattice arch pieces.

I also created a set of two note cards and a romantic little envelope to go with my box. I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the foldover outline die to create the outline layer for the envelope. I then adhered the foldover insert dies to the wings of the outline die cut with removable tape and ran it through my die cut machine to die cut the intricate lattice framework. Once it was die cut, I scored and folded the flaps to create the finished envelope. I then trimmed a piece of Pink Sand Cardstock to size to fit inside the envelope.

Next, I die cut Pink Foamiran using the mini flower die included in the set. I wanted to create a cluster of three roses, so I die cut the flower die thrice in my die cutting machine. I used a slotted quilling tool to roll the mini flowers and then adhered them to the envelope using a hot glue gun. The leaves and sprig from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies were die cut from paper and also adhered using a glue gun. I die cut Alabaster Cardstock and Gold Mirror Cardstock using the fastener die from the set and offset the two pieces to make it all come together!

The note-cards came together very quickly as well! I just used different colours on both of them for contrast and interest. I die cut Alabaster Cardstock and Gold Mirror Cardstock using the inner square frame die and offset the two pieces to create an illusion of depth. I then die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the smallest square die included in the set and stamped my sentiment on it using Black Licorice ink.

Next, I die cut Pink Sand Cardstock using the flower die included in the Lattice Petal Foldover Set. I die cut the flower pieces thrice using my die cutting machine and used a slotted quilling tool to create the coiled roses. The coordinating flowers, leaves, and sprig pieces are from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies. I colored the mini flowers using alcohol markers and adhered them to my panel using liquid adhesive. The leaves were die cut from Limeade Splash Cardstock and adhered using liquid adhesive. To assemble, I matted the die cut background panel with layers of Pink Sand and Alabaster Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding card base made using Pink Sand Cardstock.

I repeated the process for the other note-card as well, but simply changed the colour of the flowers from pink to blue. I also die cut the sentiment piece from Pink Sand Cardstock instead of Alabaster Cardstock and used a different sentiment on this card. I really love how they turned out! I would love to hear what you think of them!

Tonic Studios Guest Design Post | Susan's Garden Club

Hello, crafty friends!
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

I am so excited and honoured to share that I am a guest designer today for Tonic Studios! I have two projects to share using the range of NEW dies from Susan's Garden Club. I just adore making handmade flowers and Susan's dies are amazing to create realistic looking flowers with minimal effort. Without much ado, let's get right to my projects!

My first project is an elaborate floral Card featuring the Susan's Garden Club - Pom Pom Dahlia Die Set & the Susan's Garden Club - Holly & Berries Die Set.

To create my card, I first took a piece of Bright White Watercolor Paper and did some stenciling on the background to create a textured background for my flowers. Next, I started working on the main focal for my card, which are the flowers. I die cut the Susan's Garden Club - Pom Pom Dahlia Die Set from Watercolor Paper using my die cutting machine. I also cut a bunch of holly leaves and foliage using the Susan's Garden Club - Holly & Berries Die Set

Once they were all die cut, I used my Zig Brush Markers to colour the flowers. I did not colour them all perfectly - I just added colour to the centre and the sides of the petals and used a Watercolor Brush to spread the colour. I did this for all the flower die cuts, and once they were dry, I used Embossing Tools to shape my flowers. I repeated the same process for the leaves - I used Zig Markers to colour them along with a Watercolour Brush, and then slightly shaped them to give them a more realistic finish.

For the foliage, I die cut it from the Susan's Garden Club - Holly & Berries Die Set using Watercolour Paper and then added yellow and peach dots to create berries using the Nuvo Crystal Drops - Dandelion Yellow and Nuvo - Jewel Drops - Rose Water. I arranged all the elements together to create my floral spray and then adhered them to my card panel. To finish off, I added a sentiment strip over the die cut circle window and mounted my panel to a a top folding White card base.

My next project is a Gift Box created using the Susan's Garden Club - Columbine Die Set & the Susan's Garden Club - Holly & Berries Die Set.

I am a sucker for pretty packaging and totally love creating my own gift boxes, bags, tags, and more, so I decided to create a Gift Box and embellish it using flowers made from Susan's Garden Dies. I created the lid of the box using Patterned Paper while the base was made from White Cardstock. Then, I die cut several flowers and leaves from the Susan's Garden Club - Columbine Die Set using Watercolour Paper. I went with different colours this time, and kept the flowers in White and Peach.

I used a mix of leaves from this die set and the Susan's Garden Club - Holly & Berries Die Set and coloured them using green dye inks. I arranged all of them on the box and added some additional foliage as well. The little peach berries that you see were created using the Nuvo - Jewel Drops - Rose Water. I added two inverted scalloped rectangle frames and sentiment strips to complete my project. I was quite pleased with the way this one turned out. I'd love to know what you think of it?

Thank you for visiting and checking out my post! I hope you liked my projects using these dies. If you did, I would love to hear from you!

Guest Post for Spellbinders | Vintage Treasures Collection by Amazing Paper Grace

Hello, friends!
I am beyond thrilled and honoured to say, that I am a guest blogger on the Spellbinders blog. I am here to share five projects that I’ve made with the absolutely glorious, Vintage Treasures Collection by Becca Feeken. It’s an absolute joy to work with this collection - The die designs are so ingenious and make creating projects a breeze! I can't wait to show you my projects using this collection.

Vintage Treasures Collection by Becca Feeken brings classic circular motifs and elegant flourishes to life. A perfect addition to her other Spellbinders collections for making beautiful projects!

My first project is a Circle shaped Card made using the Tiffany Lavaliere Etched Dies, the Brillante Rondelle Etched Dies, and the Cinch and Go V Etched Dies.

I love creating shaped cards, and when I saw these particular dies in the collection, I knew I had to make one! To create my card, I first die cut the large circle from the Tiffany Lavaliere Etched Dies. Next, I embossed the circle using the inner rim die from the same collection to give my card some dimension. Once that was done, I die cut the intricate circle die from the Brillante Rondelle Etched Dies using gold mirror cardstock. I layered this circle with another intricate die cut which was cut from pale blue textured cardstock, and then finally added the label pattern and label rim die cuts. This card is all about layers and you may want to use a lesser number of die cuts if you don't want it to become bulky.

I stamped my sentiment in the centre of the die cut and then started working on my embellishments. I used the Cinch and Go V Etched Dies to create my flowers and leaves. I die cut them from white cardstock and coloured the tips of the flowers using light pink dye ink. Once that was done, I embossed them using Embossing Ball Tools and added pollens to the centres of the flowers. The leaves were also die cut from white cardstock and coloured using green dye ink and slightly embossed.

Here's a closer look at the floral arrangement. I also added some mulberry rose buds and filler flowers to compliment my handmade flowers.

And here's a look again at my finished card.

This gift box was really lovely to put together! I wanted to make the Delicate Tendril Border Etched Dies the star of my project, and what better than using it as a framed border across a gift box! I die cut the border pattern and outer rim from white cardstock and gold mirror cardstock respectively and adhered them on top of the other to create an inlay effect. I think it looks really pretty and can be used in so many different ways!

For the lid, I used a variety of dies to embellish it. I first die cut the inner frame from the Nobel Chatelaine Etched Dies from gold mirror cardstock. Then, I used the inner frame from the Brillante Rondelle Etched Dies and die cut it from white cardstock. I also went ahead and stamped my sentiment in the centre of this die cut. I also added some delicate flourishes die cut from gold mirror cardstock on all four sides of the box. The flourish die is a part of the Delicate Tendril Border Etched Die Set.

The flowers are made using the Cinch and Go V Etched Dies. I used light yellow and peach Foamiran sheets to create them. The leaves are also die cut from Green Foamiran. I even added some glitter pollens and small daisy flowers to complete my floral bunch.

And here's how the sides of the bos look like. The gift box has quite a lot of space to include jewelry pieces, trinkets, chocolates, or even some special souvenirs in it.

My third project is a lil' Note Pad Holder made using the Adorned Notepad Etched Dies. This is an ingenious die which allows you to create your very own notepad holders and is such a delight to work with!

To create this notepad, I followed THIS video tutorial from Becca Feeken to assemble it. This is really simple to put together and hardly takes time. Once I assembled the basic structure of the notepad, it was time to work on the embellishments. I matted gold mirror cardstock on the base, and then added another layer of patterned paper over it. I also used the inner frame from the Brillante Rondelle Etched Dies to further embellish it. I also added a little sentiment tab 'For My Record' inside the frame. I admit, I did go a bit overboard with gold mirror cardstock on this project as evident in the project photographs. :D

I wanted to keep the floral embellishments to a minimal and therefore only used the tiny flowers from the Adorned Notepad Etched Die Set. I die cut them from peach Foamiran sheets and added around four-five cream pollens to the centres. The leaves were hand cut from green Foamiran. The four corners are die cut using the accent piece included in the Marquise Diamond Pendant Etched Dies. I split the accent piece in half so that I could use them as corners. Another great way to get more out of your dies than their intended use!

I used gold mirror cardstock to create the pen holder and added a little pen inside it. I also added some additional scallops on the bottom to give it a more elegant look. I really love this die set and cannot wait to create more notepad holders using it. :)

My fourth project is again another Notepad Holder. I am obsessed with this die set and have already made three different notepads using it so far! Trust me, this is really addictive and you won't be able to stop at one.

I kept the colour tones for this project very soft and muted which is also my personal favourite! I used a gorgeous patterned paper to create the flap of the note pad holder. The patterned paper did all the work for me! I just added the die cut word' Notes'  and the sentiment sticker 'For the Record' to the notepad.

I die cut the word 'Notes' from pink and copper foil cardstock and slightly offset it. This word die is a part of the Adorned Notepad Etched Die Set.

Here's how the inside of the holder looks like.

I have added small magnets for the closure of my notepad. You may leave it as is if you don't want to use magnets.

And my final project for today is a Card made using the Floral Tiara Topper Etched DiesBrillante Rondelle Etched Dies, and the Cinch and Go V Etched Dies.

I know, the colours look pretty faded out in the picture, but it is not so in real life.  I had a hard time capturing the real colours on this card.

For creating this card, I first started by die cutting the borders from the Floral Tiara Topper Etched Dies using light pink textured cardstock and gold mirror cardstock. While adhering them, I offset them a little so that it would add some interest to my card design. I did this twice so that the borders would serve as an elegant oval frame. I adhered them on the top and bottom of my card panel and then started working on the focal of my card.

I used the intricate frame die from Brillante Rondelle Etched Dies to die cut the center piece from cream cardstock. Once that was done, I stamped my sentiment on it. I used a pretty bold font so that it would bring focus to the card centre.

The flowers were made using the Cinch and Go V Etched Dies. I die cut them from pink cardstock, lightly embossed and shaped them, and added pollens to the centres to give them a fuller look. The leaves were die cut using the leaf die included in this set. I did not add any flowers fillers on this card and kept it fairly simple.

Spellbinders March 25th Blog Hop

Hello, crafty friends!
Welcome to the Spellbinders March 25th Blog Hop! If you're just popping in, you can start at the beginning with Spellbinders Blog. If you've been hopping along, you should have arrived from the blog of Tina Smith. There is lots of inspiration and prizes to be won, so be sure to read until the end of the post for more details!

Today, we are showcasing the following NEW collections from Spellbinders and I am so excited to share my projects using both these collections.
Becca Feeken Gilded Age | Sharyn Sowell Happy | New Glimmer Hot Foil Colors

My first project is a Cottage Gift Box made using the Gilded Trimmings Glimmer Hot Foil Plate, Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Gold, and the Charming Cottage Box Etched Dies.

I wanted to use the Gilded Trimmings Glimmer Hot Foil Plate in a new and unique way, and what better than using it as a gorgeous, elegant border to adorn a gift box! To create this box, I first die cut the Cottage Box from heavy-weight smooth Cream Cardstock using the Charming Cottage Box Etched Dies. Once it was die cut, I used the Spellbinders Hot Foil Glimmer System with the Gilded Trimmings Glimmer Hot Foil Plate to foil the border on all four sides of the box. I used the Glimmer Hot Foil Roll in Gold to foil the borders.

I wanted to keep the embellishing very simple so as to not take away the focus from the foiled borders. I used the Cinch and Go Poinsettia Etched Dies to create a light pink poinsettia and some small filler flowers from the It's Your Day Etched Dies along with a couple of rose buds and pollens from my stash to embellish the box. I also added some leaves die cut from green Foamiran to complete the floral cluster.

Here is a look at the foiled borders! I die cut the tiny border using the Gilded Trimmings Glimmer Hot Foil Plate with the Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Blush. I added it as an accent strip all around the box. I loved how this one turned out! What do you think?

My next box is an idea which came to my mind whole working on the first project. I had this beautiful strip of foil left over from foiling the Gilded Trimmings Glimmer Hot Foil Plate, and it was too pretty to be thrown out, so I decided to use the negative as well to create another box.

This is actually a gorgeous gold colour, however, I was not able to capture the colour of the foil nicely. The next picture shows you how the actual colour looks like, and I think, you will agree with me, that it is really very pretty!

I adhered this strip of foil using Glossy Accents. I had to be very careful while adhering it, to make sure there were no air bubbles. I used the entire negative piece to cover the box. I also die cut borders using the Shadow Box Ribbon Threader Etched Dies from white cardstock to add to the top and bottom of the foiled piece, and give it a more finished look.

I kept the floral arrangement almost the same as the previous box, and only changed the colours. Also, please excuse those pesky glue strings which are showing up in the pictures. I had no idea about them until I saw down to edit my pictures. :/

My last project for today is a Card I made using the new Glimmer Plates and Etched Dies from Sharyn Sowell's Happy Collection

I had a lot of fun creating this card! I have always wanted to create a card with this particular layout and when I saw the Oh Happy Day Glimmer Hot Foil Plate, I knew I was going to use it this way! I first started by foiling the plate using Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Blush. Once that was done, I started working on the other elements of my card.

I die cut little flowers from light pink and dark pink cardstock using dies from the It's Your Day Etched Dies and lightly embossed them to give them a dainty look. I adhered them on my card panel and added white pearls to the centres. The sentiment banner was die cut from Gold Mirror Cardstock and White Cardstock and then adhered one one on top of the other to give the inlay effect.

I really liked the way this one tuned out because this was how I had envisioned it when I received these products. I would love to know what you think of my card!
